We had the good fortune of connecting with Kailin Brousseau and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kailin, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The most important factor behind the success of our brand has been our community of friends and creatives. While getting our creative agency off the ground, being able to tap into the talents and support of the people around us has propelled us faster than anything else. Collaboration will always be #1 in our business.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Although still early on in our development, we are incredibly proud to share what we create. Evan is behind the lens, and shoots all of my (Kailin) concepts. We collaborate to bring the vision to life, and then further that through the post-production process. All of our projects are truly a team effort- a result of communication, time, effort, and often the concept being drawn on a napkin while we brainstorm constantly. The biggest challenge we face consistently is time, because there isn’t enough of it to execute every idea as it comes. Client work is prioritized always, so concepts that we have on the backburner stay there until they can be fully finished. If those can be applied to a client’s dream advert, our job is that much better. Today we are lucky to be photographing models, restaurants, fashion, products, and hotels.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Our favorite spots in the city are mostly outdoors. Our base is South Beach, and our favorite activities when we’re not producing are centered around everything that it has to offer. Skating down the boardwalk to join in on pickup beach volleyball, and ending up at South Point for sunset is our off-day routine that we love to share with anyone who’d like to join. Our favorite spots to eat include Under The Mango Tree, La Sandwicherie (a classic), and the more hidden Safron Grill on 10th and Washington. For another active option, Clear View Kayaks offers some really great kayaking and paddleboarding. For a night out (pre-Covid) Lost Weekend and The Deuce can’t be beat if you’re into dive bars- don’t miss Lost Weekend’s bar bites and their sister Kill Your Idol for their Wednesday night drag shows.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
We are dedicating our shoutout to our friends- they know who they are! They have each leant their time, skills, passions, and resources to help us make our visions a reality.
