We had the good fortune of connecting with Kaitlyn Ferrer and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kaitlyn, how does your business help the community?
The studio offers classes seven days a week which include a wide range of ancient practices that better improve one’s body mind, and spirit. Sacred Form is a fitness space for every type of person to discover or continue to practice simple yet powerful techniques that clear the mind, improve the physical condition and create connection to a more meaningful state of being. The location of the studio being surrounded by neighborhoods on all sides was selected specifically so the local community has access to these tools only a few minutes from home.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Sacred Form is a fitness studio nestled in Plantation, Florida where modern fitness meets traditional practices. The studio is one of its kind, offering a wide variety of class types seven days a week. We are the only studio around where you can practice traditional yoga, mat pilates, taichi, and qigong all in one place, even all in one single day! The studio was founded on the goal of providing more traditional classes which keeps the focus on the breath, in a beautifully designed space with no mirrors or added heat.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Some interesting and inspiring places to explore in the area include Jesse Durko’s Nursery, Living Color, or the Rare Fruit & Vegetable Council of Broward Inc. For refreshments I would recommend a smoothie at Bob Roth’s New River Groves or a juice at Fruits n’ Cahoots fruit and vegetable stand. Eating natural foods and supporting locals are a must if you can! If you’d like to spend time outside I’d recommend a walk or run at either Robbins Lodge Park or the Long Key Nature Center. There is nothing that beats the beauty and marvel of the old gigantic oak trees at these parks. A few other interesting spots close by would be the Old Florida Book Shop and the Cooper City Antique Mall. For a good cold beer at the end of a long day I’d recommend King’s Head Pub in Sunrise. There’s not many places with a true authentic feel, but if you hit all of those you’ll have a great time!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Shoutout to all of the teachers who continue to practice traditional methods of healing, and everyone who supports the concept of our studio. Shoutout to the many loving people who have offered support in every form, and the family and friends that encouraged us to go for it! Most importantly I’d like to shoutout our incredible team of teachers that make these techniques accessible to the community.
