We had the good fortune of connecting with Karrita Renzelmann and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Karrita, what do you think makes you most happy? Why?
Many facets of life can elicit moments of happiness. Currently, I am delighted about a new flower brick vase design, where I integrate my love for gardening, floral design, and pottery making. Witnessing the realization of inspiration or vision in the pottery studio consistently brings me joy.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Queen Bee Pottery is not only a reflection of my love for nature, gardening, and crafting ceramic art for homes and gardens but also a source of pride. I take immense satisfaction in blending two of my life passions: the art of pottery-making and the beauty of flower gardening. Each piece is a testament to this harmonious union, where my love for both crafts comes together in a unique and meaningful way.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I extend my gratitude to my husband, Steve, for initiating my pottery journey with a thoughtful birthday gift – a pottery wheel. Recognition is also due to Professor Jim Lansing at Broward College, whose ceramics classes provided a foundational understanding of pottery skills. Special appreciation is reserved for ceramic artist Jan Kolenda, whose expertise guided me in mastering the creation of relief tiles and molds. The profound influence of molding from natural elements found in nature has significantly shaped my pottery journey.
