We had the good fortune of connecting with Katrina Fraga and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Katrina, how has your perspective on work-life balance evolved over time?
A work life balance is what I struggle with the most. The funny part is that my life is what most influences my work with Mom of 2 Without a Clue. The blog/podcast is a passion project and sometimes it gets pushed to the side because of real life responsibilities like motherhood and “real” work. My dream is to be able to have a better balance so I can dedicate more time to this aspect of my life. It is a creative outlet for me.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I started Mom of 2 Without a Clue in 2018. I had just decided to leave my teaching career, I had a newborn and a 2-year-old, and I was starting a new chapter as a stay-at-home working mom. I had so many questions and so many feelings. I knew I was not alone. I decided to start my blog page as a way to connect to other moms and share my story. In 2020, I took a chance and started my podcast. It was very scary to share such personal things in such a public way, but I received so much feedback from friends that connected to my story in one way or another. As time passed, my podcast and blogs became a lot more personal. My life took some crazy turns, and I thought it was only fair to share the bad alongside the good, It was very therapeutic for me. I think the biggest challenge has been not sharing all I wish I could. Some things I need to keep personal, I always say that I wish it was anonymous so I can give ALL the details haha! Through it all, I try to be extremely honest, In a world of fake social media lives, I think it is important to show that life isn’t perfect and you are not alone. I can only hope that I can connect to other moms, wives, ex-wives, single-moms and anyone else that wants to listen.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I love activities and Miami is a perfect place for that. As someone that works from home, I take any chance I get to get out of the house. I would definitely start by taking my friend to the beach. There is something about being by the ocean and breathing the salty air that resets your body, soul, and mind. If we are looking for something more active, I love axe-throwing. I recently tried it for the first time and it was so much fun! It is competitive, active, and a great way to get some stress relief. When it comes to eating and drinking, I am probably not the best to ask. I am going to be honest and say I am one of those “whatever you want” kind of people. I am a decision maker when it comes to a lot of things, where we eat is not one of them.
With good company, anything can be fun, Some of the best moments I have had, have been sitting around the dining room table with a glass of wine and good friends.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My shoutout goes to the people I call “my village”. I am very blessed to be surrounded by the most amazing family. We are extremely close and get together every Friday for “family night”. They have been by my side in the lowest of lows and been my biggest cheerleaders in my highs. I am not sure where I would be without them, and I owe them everything.
