We had the good fortune of connecting with Keith B and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi KEITH, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I’ve always been passionate about music. I remember being the kid dancing at all the family and local jams, completely fascinated by the wall of speakers and the deep, thumping bass. There was something about the rhythm of different tracks being played at those parties that made me feel alive—seeing people dancing, singing classic disco, house, and hip-hop songs, and hearing the MC rap over the tracks. That’s when I truly fell in love with music.
As I got older, I had the chance to learn how to DJ from my brother-in-law, who taught me everything I know. I still remember the first vinyl record I played: Young Gunz, Can’t Stop Won’t Stop. I was so excited to bring the record back and try to scratch, but I ended up damaging the needles. My brother-in-law banned me from using his turntables after that incident—(I didn’t know how expensive needles were at the time; I was just a kid). But soon after, I got a shot at DJing my first wedding—his! It was a complete train wreck, and I must’ve been only 10 years old. (You can probably guess my brother-in-law was a little cheap for trusting me with that, haha).
Despite the rocky start, that experience pushed me to hone my DJ skills, learning how to blend all types of music and read a crowd. In high school, I started throwing my own parties and even hosted some crazy house/mansion parties back in 2012. Those early days are what shaped my creative career and inspired me to pursue DJing professionally.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
As a DJ and creative entrepreneur, my passion for music has always been about more than just playing tracks—it’s about curating an experience and bringing people together. I’ve been DJing since I was a kid, and over time, I’ve had the privilege of performing alongside some of the industry’s biggest names, like Kaytranada and Ape Drums, as well as hometown legends like Louie Arson, Jun-Ill, DJ Ka5, DJ A-Train, DJ Konflikt, Roddy-Yo, & I can’t forget to mention some of the homies who are killing the Miami scene currently like Deion Da DJ, BlinkDaLink, Bozito, Littlerok, Duality, Rara & a lot more.
I want to give a special shoutout to Norma Now, who has opened so many doors for me and provided countless opportunities. Her support and belief in my vision have been instrumental in my growth as an artist and entrepreneur.
One of my proudest accomplishments is founding Do Not Disturb (DND) Radio, a platform that brings together incredible DJs and diverse musical styles from around the world. What excites me most is how DND Radio has attracted the attention of people who had no idea what we were doing at first. We started as an online show showcasing a variety of sounds like Baile Funk, Hip Hop, Latin, and Electronic music, and over time, people began discovering us and connecting with our unique approach. Many reached out, saying how they stumbled upon our content and ended up staying because of the energy and authenticity they felt.
Seeing this organic growth and watching people get excited about something they might not have known existed before is incredibly fulfilling. It’s been amazing to watch strangers become supporters, and supporters become a community. Our events and content have racked up millions of views across social media, not because we chased trends, but because we stayed true to our sound and vision.
If there’s one thing I want the world to know about my brand and story, it’s that DND Radio is here to redefine how people experience music. Whether it’s through live events, online content, or collaborations with top talent, we’re pushing boundaries and creating a platform where diverse sounds and cultures come together. And I couldn’t have done it without the support of Miami’s own heavyweights like Louie Arson, Deion Da DJ, BlinkDaLink, Bozito, LittleRok, Duality, Jun-Ill, Norma Now, and countless others who’ve supported me along the way.
A huge shoutout to some of our biggest supporters at the DND parties: Pose Retals, Abby, Ontherox, Impolitedrew, Jada, and Sierra. Your dedication, energy, and love have been instrumental in creating the vibe and community that DND represents. And, of course, I can’t forget about my sister Shelly and Anthony, who have been nothing but supportive and helpful throughout this journey. Special thanks to Pancho aka DJ Manuvers and Arlo Hotel for giving DND a home to celebrate monthly. This is just the beginning—there’s so much more to come!
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend was visiting, I’d definitely tell them to check out some of my favorite spots in the city. I’d start by taking them to Dante’s Hi-Fi—a super chill, unique cocktail bar with amazing DJs spinning vinyl. It’s one of those places where you can just get lost in the music and vibe out for hours.
I’d also say keep an eye on whatever Louie Arson has going on. Shoutout to Ripe Fruit, one of the dopest events in the city, always bringing that authentic Miami flavor. And my dude Deion Da DJ is absolutely killing it right now, so I’d definitely suggest linking up with him on Fridays at the Red Rooster Pool Hall. He and Jeanie have that place on fire every week. S/O Jeanie for always keeping the vibe right!
And if you’re not in the mood to step out, just turn on DND RADIO, baby! (Shameless plug, haha). There’s always a new mix to dive into, showcasing the best of what Miami’s music scene has to offer.
Wherever you go, just know that Miami’s got so many talented people and great places, and the community really makes it feel special.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’ve been DJing since I was 10 years old. I started playing at local bars in Fort Lauderdale, and one day a bartender mentioned that a place called Bar Rita was looking for an open-format DJ. I thought, “Oh, word? Say less!” I went in for a tryout, and I’ve never seen so much energy erupt on a Sunday morning, haha. After that day, I became a regular at Bar Rita. It was amazing what that opportunity did for me—having a steady gig, building connections, and developing a community really helped me master the art of reading a room. I learned a lot during my time there, so shoutout to Tahimi Cardona, Rachel, and a few other managers who believed in me.
After Bar Rita, I landed a few residencies at hookah lounges, which eventually led me to nightclubs like Shots Miami. There, I had the chance to open for Nice Guy Erwin and Melo, who took me under their wing and showed me the ropes. That opportunity transitioned into meeting Louie Arson, who put me on the roster for the famous Ripe Fruit Thursday party at 1-800-Lucky. That experience really propelled me forward, leading me to Blackbird, where I met Contra. He completely changed my perspective on playing a nightclub—how to open, how to maintain energy, and how to close. It was a huge learning experience, and although Contra was tough on me, he saw potential and pushed me to be better.
I’m forever grateful to Nice Guy Erwin, Melo, Louie Arson, Contra, and everyone else who gave me a shot and believed in my talent.
