We had the good fortune of connecting with Kenny Daniels and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kenny, how has your background shaped the person you are today?
I was born and raised in Chicago, IL. The youngest child of three from a single parent household, where I was inspired by my mom’s ability to not only work two jobs, but also maintain her own personal business as a tailor. Growing up, I’ve always felt like I needed options – prepared back up plans in case I needed to fall back upon. Because of that, I became a huge multi-tasker. Sitting down without anything to do was never an option. But throughout all, it has aided in my awareness of prioritizing my life. I’ve been able to utilize every skill set learned throughout my journey to add to my character as a black man as well as a business owner.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
– The Idea of the Social Hub emerged during one of the most pivotal moments in my life as the world was faced Covid-19. Not being able to physically perform my duties as a personal trainer, I had to support myself from supplemental income as a Social Media Influencer. With taking on more jobs with companies, I didn’t have enough variety of places to take photos with Miami’s outdoor scene of primarily palm trees and skylines. I needed a place with a variety of clean backgrounds, ability to change clothes, and uninterrupted traffic of people. I discovered there was a place called a “Selfie Museum”. Most of them I found to be cool & simple, however, it was missing that “it factor”. I felt like I could provide that by meeting the need of being a multi-use studio & event space with realistic and unique staging, offering a fun experience for all ages, groups, and events. That’s how we created the name “The Social Hub” – servicing a combination of people for every photographic need, all under one roof.

Unlike the majority, The Social Hub is more than just a Selfie Museum. It’s a multi-use photo studio & event space for content creators.. We offer 20 individually themed rooms with controlled lighting and plenty of props, multiple private dressing rooms and a vibe! The Social Hub has become Miami’s hottest place for Photo shoots, Music videos, Instagram glamour shots & the best Tik Tok transitions. Our 3500 square foot studio is also perfect for small business brands and other individuals to host a private event.

It’s has taken a lot of hard work as a small business owner handling 85% of operations solely, but it’s been a true learning experience and nothing but excitement to create something different that people enjoy. I’ve utilized every skill set learned, my entire network of groups & individuals, even platforms outside of my budget to create this business, but it’s been really challenging getting Miami to know that we exist. However…Rome wasn’t built in a day as well. We are opening eyes within the community & the word is spreading rapidly thanks to our visitors from others cities. It’s only a matter of time where our name will be known across the nation.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
All of my friends knows that I’m a foodie and advocate for fun activities outside of the norm. During they day I like to eat & drink at “the locals only” type of spots. Small dive bars and restaurants with authentic food like “Taco Stand” in Wynwood and “Phuc Yea” in the Little River area. But I also like to explore outside of the central area of Miami and head south for drinks and food. A few of my favorites are “Root & Bone” and “Mamey”. For activities, I mean there’s only one thing that tops it’s all and that’s to charter a boat for the afternoon through sunset. Nothing says Miami, like living the high life on a boat. With my history of being a promoter and knowing many people that work at different clubs, I always have an option to cap the night at places like “LIV Night Club” in Miami Beach, or on a smaller scale “Racket” over in Wynwood. To do something more chill and relaxed, I like going down south to “Schnebly Winery” for a tasting or paddle boarding over at Virginia Key Outdoor Center.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
If I had to chose a person that I can say has truly motivated me and pretty much showed me how to make something happen for myself, it would be a great friend (more like family) of mine Michael Gardner. Mike is the owner and leader behind the brand for “Headliner Marketing Group”. A group that I stumbled upon when I first moved to Miami back in 2006. After discovering that Mike was also from Chicago, I had a different level of respect toward him. To leave a great city and start your own chapter on life in a new city, and actually become the guy everyone wanted to know was amazing. While working with Mike from 2007-2014, I learned so much about managing a business. The sacrifices that it takes & the hardships that will be faced, all to make the celebration at the end worth every moment. Because of that experience, I felt comfortable branching out on my own. Creating my own path and encountering the uncertainties of my journey; all which has developed the character that I possess to this day and the faith I leaned upon when I started this business.
