Meet Kim Boxer | President of Breezo

We had the good fortune of connecting with Kim Boxer and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kim, what do you attribute your success to?

At Breezo, we see the importance of longevity and creating lasting relationships built on trust. We have all worked in the industry for some time now and know that there are so many actors chasing their next deal, taking shortcuts to make a sale. That’s not how we operate at Breezo. We realize that this mindset only hurts clients and partners, whereas being reliable and trustworthy, you’re able to bring so much more to the table and create more lasting relationships within the industry. 

As the brokers, we believe in going above and beyond for everyone we come across. We really designed our whole process around transparency, not for convenience, but for smart and ethical business practice. It takes time, diligence, and dedication to become a great boater. At Breezo, we don’t take shortcuts. We sweat everything – big and small – and consistently provide the utmost amount of transparency so that our expertise turns into the highest quality experience on the water.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?

The Breezo journey dates back to when I was a captain for a 60 foot SeaRay Sundancer. I had a great relationship with the owner and did everything to always maintain the yacht in tip-top shape. The owner, being a successful businessman– hardly ever used the boat. Any boat savvy person knows that boats need to run constantly to avoid deterioration. So we created a charter program that made the boat available to families, professionals and people who were just looking to cruise around. It became so successful other owners started approaching me. Today, the Breezo fleet consists of over 20 luxury yachts.

Was it easy? It wasn’t. Was it worth it? One-hundred-percent. Starting a company from the ground up, finding ways to scale is always a challenge. Taking it step-by-step allowed me to, today, manage the best fleet of motor yachts in South Florida. There are plenty of other charter brokers in the area but what sets us apart is our promise to deliver a certain level of quality and exclusivity. We take care of our people, our partners and our inventory—that’s our recipe for delivering unparalleled experiences on the water. 

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?

Miami has grown and flourished drastically within the past few years. However, I still believe that the best way to experience Miami is to get out on the water. It’d be impossible to have a good friend visit and not take them out on one of our yachts.

From sunrise to nighttime– the Miami skyline is one of the most spectacular sceneries in the world. Our waters are warm yet refreshing year-round and there’s so much wildlife to see out there. As far as food goes, there are plenty of waterfront restaurants. We love cruising to SeaSpice on the Miami River and staying for drinks and music afterwards. If we want something more intimate- nothing beats enjoying a fresh cooked meal on board. We have a great network of talented local chefs who can cook up just about anything. 

If we’re talking about a full week, I’d have to show my friend the hidden gems in Calle Ocho, the vibrant atmospheres in places like Faena, a trip to Design District – with an imperative stop by Mia Market – and call me old-fashioned but I wouldn’t let my friend leave until we checked out the Perez Art Museum and the Vizcaya Museum and Gardens.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?

This is a hard one because it’s incredibly difficult to pinpoint just one person or organization that’s helped me since the inception of Breezo. But that’s part of the beauty of it. Starting from the ground up, there’s been so many captains, crew, boat owners, clients, etc. that have played a pivotal role in the growth of this company. Sometimes it’s easier to credit their support and mentorship because it was done more tangibly, and other times it’s simply the advice or the positivity that, looking back, is unarguably deserving of recognition.

There are also a couple of completely invaluable brand partnerships. One of the most notable is that with Vanquish Yachts, where they’ve continued to inspire us towards a relentlessly high standard of service. Being able to work closely with luxury organizations and their executives has played a paramount role in who we are, what we do, and how we do it. These kinds of relationships immeasurably added to our way of operating, reminding us that to be a great business, you have to have phenomenal characteristics including professionalism, virtuous business practices, and discipline.
