We had the good fortune of connecting with Kimberly “Luce” Santore and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kimberly “Luce”, what’s something about your industry that outsiders are probably unaware of?
The amount of administrative work that goes on behind the lens. That includes the culling and editing photos if your photographer hasn’t started outsourcing that component.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’m not quite where I want to be just yet, but I’m getting there. My style of documenting weddings (life in general) is intentional, filled with emotion, and all about the details that make up the whole. I think that weddings are in general chaotic, intense, and completely rushed. So many little moments go unnoticed or are just missed. Part of my process is to offer my clients full weekend coverage, so I can put the peices of their together visually. It also allows for us to slow down. I’ve learned that life is fleeting, and you miss 100% of the chances you didn’t take.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I love this. I would have to rent a trendy airbnb in Miami, maybe splurge a little. Miami has so many things to offer from art, food, drinks, and historical places to visit.
First I would start off by heading west to Sanguich for some tasty cuban food. Start off with some ham croquettes, a guava and cheese milkshake (los batidos “Timba”)…trust me, it’s to die for. Grab a cubano, and a cafe con leche to finish.
We would definitely lay poolside for a few and just enjoy the sun or head down to the beach for some fun in the sun.
An iconic dinner with the best skyline view, the Rusty Pelican, you can’t go wrong with a good bottle of wine and fresh seafood. Absolutely fantastic.
I would never forgive myself I didn’t take my friends to The Salty, hands down the best donuts I’ve ever had. I would get the Brown Butter & Salt, Maple Bacon, and Guava & Cheese…then slam down a delicious Cinnamon Toast Crunch iced latte.
One of Miami’s best kept secrets is the amazing art exhibits that are shown at various libraries throughout the city. If that isn’t enough, Vizcaya Museum & Gardens is definitely a must!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to dedicate my shout out to my daughter, Sarai. Every single one of my professors from my college days played a huge role, thank you for being the inspiration when our paths crossed.
To my closest friends that in one way or another helped me along the way. Your support and friendship means everything to me.
