We had the good fortune of connecting with Kimberly Trelles and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kimberly, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The most important factor behind the success of The Trelles Cottage has been staying true to our purpose-driven mission—creating a brand that’s rooted in supporting families in the autism community. We take pride in partnering with local organizations to create awareness in local programs benefitting the community.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
The Trelles Cottage is a lifestyle brand that celebrates culture, community, and identity—rooted in our love for Croquetas y Chisme. We specialize in t-shirts, hats, and accessories that are bold, expressive, and full of personality, but our best selling collection is our Tengo Chisme Collection. Our pieces are designed to bring a little nostalgia, pride, and local flavor into everyday wear, blending comfort with cultural storytelling.

What sets us apart is the heart behind the brand. Every design has meaning, whether it’s inspired by our heritage, our neighborhood in Miami Lakes, or our own personal journey as a family. We’re not just selling products—we’re sharing a piece of who we are. We proudly give back to various autism organizations, a cause very close to home for us.

The road to get here hasn’t been easy. It started with small markets, late nights, and a lot of trial and error. I’ve learned to embrace growth through challenges, and to lean into my community and my “why” when things got tough.

One of the moments I’m most proud of is opening our first brick-and-mortar shop in Miami Lakes. 8140 NW 155th St. #101 Miami Lakes FL 33016. It was a big leap, but it gave our brand a home—a place where people can feel the vibe, the love, and the soul behind every piece.

What I want the world to know is that The Trelles Cottage is about more than just fashion—it’s about connection. It’s a love letter to our roots, our city, and our community. Every product tells a story, and every customer becomes part of that story.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Well if my best friend were visiting, of course I would start by taking her to visit our store The Trelles Cottage and to snap a cute pic in front of our phone wall. We would then grab an acai bowl from Ernie’s Acai in Miami Lakes and later, dinner at Korner 67 on Main Street, my favorite spot for food and drink. If they were visiting for a week I would definitely take them for ice cream at Azucar Ice Cream in Little Havana, while exploring Calle Ocho. I would make a trip to Coconut Grove with a stop at Montys. I would also add a visit to the Frost Museum to the itinerary, watching the sunset over the PAMM is one of my favorite things and my kids love it too.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My incredible husband, Daniel—he is the constant behind the chaos, the muscle behind every market, and the heart behind every build. The Trelles Cottage wouldn’t be what it is without him—and neither would I.
