We had the good fortune of connecting with Kindra Trawick and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kindra, what do you want your legacy to be?
I want my Legacy to be to do what you see regardless of what you’ve been shown. If I based my dreams and goals on my childhood, bank account, or surroundings I would never do anything. Life will always show you why you can’t but believing in what God showed you tells you that you can. I would like to inspire others to be create instead of being a copy. I would like to be remembered by my willingness to fail publicly and be humiliated before I be I die and allow myself to live with the regret of what “could of been”.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am most proud of my commitment to myself. I have struggled with believing in myself as well as self worth for years and to finally believe in myself has been life changing. I am now where I am because of my relentlessness. This journey hasn’t been easy however had it been I wouldn’t have the wisdom I have now. I overcame changes by prayer. There are so many lessons that I have learned along the way but the most important is to wait until things are perfect to start. I want the world to know by hearing my story is that whatever it is that you want it’s possible.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If I had a friend coming to visit my town Dothan, Al (which is fairly small) and I wanted to show them a good time I would take them to eat breakfast at Sister’s Soul Express. Next, we would get facials at Vangies Vanity Bar then we would have brunch at Toasted Yolk afterwards get a massage by Tiffany Brown then head Shamya Melton to get our face slayed before heading to The Joy Factory which is a selfie museum and take pictures later on be Styled by Ri which is Sherida Bennet to go and eat hibachi at Mikitas afterwards we would enjoy a night out at Clout Ultra Lounge.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My sister Kishawna Brown is my biggest supporter and she has her own company called Brown Magic that is all about hair growth and promotes healthy hair. There isn’t a day that goes by that she isn’t in my ear pushing me to my next level. I absolutely admire Sarah Jakes because she is authentic and real. The love and encouragement has came from so many that I can’t name them all. My children are my biggest motivation and they deserve the recognition for making me the driven woman I am today. God gets all of the glory and I plan on making my mother and grandmother proud. My mentor Paulette Broach has changed my life in more ways than one and has been vital for my development. She also offer life coaching and counseling with her company B.E Outreach and Community Development, Inc.
