We had the good fortune of connecting with Kintisa “SKYGOAT” Hallmon and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kintisa “SKYGOAT”, how does your business help the community?
My business is founded on a deep commitment to the community and a mission to empower local artists and businesses to thrive. We achieve this through various avenues of support.

First and foremost, we host a series of events throughout the year that serve as a vibrant stage for local talent to shine. These events not only provide artists and businesses with a valuable platform to showcase their work but also foster a sense of unity and pride within our local community. We firmly believe that everyone, regardless of their background or circumstances, deserves an opportunity to succeed, and our events play a pivotal role in realizing this vision.

Furthermore, our dedication to community welfare extends beyond our events. A significant portion of our profits is reinvested back into the community in diverse ways. We organize charitable initiatives such as toy drives and soup kitchens during the holiday season, ensuring that those in need receive essential support and a touch of warmth during a time when it’s needed most. Additionally, we run Back-to-School Drives that equip underprivileged students with the tools they need to excel in their education. We also provide mentorship programs, offering guidance and support to budding artists and aspiring entrepreneurs, helping them navigate the complexities of their respective fields.

In summary, our business goes far beyond mere profit-making; it’s a vital force for positive change in our community. By nurturing local talent, fostering inclusivity, and channeling profits back into various community initiatives, we are actively working to uplift and empower the community we call home. Our goal is to not only promote local art and commerce but also to be a catalyst for social and economic betterment in our community.

What should our readers know about your business?
SKYGOATProductions, founded on September 19th, 2020, is more than just a business. It’s a labor of love, commitment, and unwavering dedication to the local community. What sets us apart from other businesses is our resolute belief that success isn’t solely measured in monetary gains. We have a higher purpose – to curate quality events and produce outstanding content. We don’t accept just any work, and we refuse to put on events that don’t meet our stringent standards.

As the driving force behind SGP, I am my own harshest critic, constantly striving for excellence. Our commitment to quality isn’t just about what we deliver but extends to how we conduct ourselves. We set a high standard so that our community treats our company with the same level of respect. This standard extends beyond our business; it encompasses our team and every individual we work with.

At the heart of our mission is to provide a safe and nurturing space for local businesses and artists to grow. Whether you’re a part of our team, an event participant, or involved in one of our projects, you can count on being part of something exceptional. You will be treated with respect and compensated fairly, whether that compensation is monetary or through profitable opportunities. We take pride in not being gatekeepers; we’re here to uplift and support the community.

One recurring obstacle we face is the initial reluctance of some community members to join our journey. Some decline our offers, and others present hefty booking fees. While we appreciate the transparency, it’s disheartening, considering Miami’s reputation for not supporting its own. It’s only when individuals witness the profound impact of our events within the community that they seek to be part of what we’ve built.

One day, we hope to change this narrative and foster a spirit of unity and support within our city. Until then, we remain steadfast in our commitment to being genuine citizens of our community, extending a helping hand to those who genuinely wish to be part of our journey. SKYGOATProductions is more than a promotion group; it’s a force for creativity, community growth, and transformation.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Every Saturday in my life is a vibrant mix of work and enjoyment. It all begins with the morning sun, as I prepare for a day of creative shoots, interviews, and performances. I have the privilege of leading a talented team of artists, and our Saturdays are dedicated to capturing the essence of various events, from lively performances to music videos. My show, GOATTalk, adds an extra layer of excitement, as I often host and interview intriguing personalities.

Mornings are a whirlwind of activity, ensuring everything is in place. We check and charge our equipment, pack it into the car, and I take some time for personal grooming. Though I must confess, I often overlook breakfast, a habit I wouldn’t recommend. Life moves at such a brisk pace that sometimes the most important meal of the day can slip through the cracks. On our way to the gig, we make a pit stop at one of my favorite community restaurants, ‘Blazzing Conch,’ nestled in the heart of Liberty City. I opt for a quick and delectable meal, typically conch fritters and conch salad, enough to keep me energized until lunch.

After a day of capturing the vibrancy of our community, we wrap up our nights at Kamp South, a legendary day and night party destination in South Florida. Kamp South is more than an outdoor experience; it’s a full sensory journey. The music sets the tone, the food tantalizes the taste buds, surprise guests keep everyone on their toes, and the staff is the glue that holds this dynamic experience together. When you step into Kamp South, you’re not just attending an event; you’re entering an adventure. You can be confident that you’ll leave with a smile, knowing you’ve had a fantastic time. My saturdays are a perfect blend of passion, hard work, and celebration, making them a unique and memorable part of my life.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’d like to take a moment to express my deep appreciation and gratitude to two incredible women in my life, my mother and grandmother, to whom I owe an immense amount of my success. My childhood was a whirlwind of school, shows, gigs, and rehearsals, often scattered across different locations, some as far as 30 minutes to an hour apart. Juggling these activities amidst my school schedule, their work commitments, and the complexities of everyday life was no small feat, and I’m truly in awe of how they managed it all.

What stands out even more is their unwavering support for my pursuits. I didn’t follow the conventional path of attending a traditional school, earning a degree, and pursuing a regular job. Instead, I attended private school, pursuing my passion for dance and acting. Later, I furthered my education in theatre and PR. Their encouragement was instrumental in maintaining my mental well-being during my college years, as I embarked on this unconventional journey.

Of course, like any path, there were obstacles and challenges along the way, but my mother and grandmother’s unwavering dedication, both in terms of time and financial support, as well as the numerous sacrifices they made, have been immeasurable. It’s one of those instances where words alone cannot express the depth of my gratitude. I cherish them both so profoundly for all they have done for me, and the love I have for them knows no bounds.
