We had the good fortune of connecting with KITTY and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi KITTY, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The key factors of my success are a mix of passion, resilience, and having a supportive team. My drive to do more with life and my love for music all come together to create a strong foundation for my brand. The fact that I’m willing to put in the hard work, stay dedicated, and surround myself with a team that shares that same commitment really sets me apart – putting in the long hours makes me fulfilled and knowing that I’m working for something bigger brings me joy.

I’ve also kept my “why” at the forefront—the purpose behind my work—and that’s what helps me stay focused and motivated, even when things get tough. My “why” is bringing people together and building a community built on support, gratitude, and love. My passion for life is translated in my performance style, I want people to let loose and enjoy life. I think this makes my brand relatable and therefore, successful!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I was passionate about music from a young age. I started playing piano in pre- school and started vocal lessons and guitar lessons in high school. I grew up in the Coachella valley going to Coachella since I was 13. While volleyball was my main priority, music was always a creative outlet for me. The discipline and hard work I learned from volleyball really sets me apart from others, I put in countless hours into my music career while still maintaining a full time corporate job. At this point I basically have two full time careers – and I wouldn’t want to have it any other way.

I am most excited about how far my music career has come in such a short amount of time. I launched my DJ Instagram less than one year ago and since then I have gained over 5k followers and have opened up for some of my dream artists. I am most excited to see what it to come!

It was not easy to get to where I am professionally. It took a lot of long hours preparing for sets, in the studio, and navigating socials. There were also many nights networking and deliberating with my team – It took a ton of encouragement from those around me. Although it was not easy, I can’t say it wasn’t enjoyable and there is still so much hard work to come.

I’ve learned to get out of my own shell. I always feared judgement from others and putting myself out there but I have gained so much confidence through this journey.

I want the world to know that you can do absolutely anything you put your mind to. It sounds cliché but if you can dream it you can do it. We are so powerful as women and we have to let that light shine. It will be hard, but it will be worth it!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
We’re in Miami!! We’re grabbing a drink at medium cool, and then we’re heading to Mila for dinner! Then we’re stopping by Dante’s HIFI for some good music and a even better drinks. After, we’ll dance the night away to the sunrise at Space and enjoy a refreshing Space coconut before we leave! The next day we’ll hop on the boat and ride jet skis and maybe a surprise DJ set from KITTY on the decks! Then we’ll recoup for dinner at the taco stand and go to factory town for another night of dancing!
Of course we’ll have to hit the beach and the best sandwich spot in town AKA the Sandwhicherie.
On Sunday we’ll got to magic city flea in downtown to go shopping for some hidden gems then we’ll grab dinner at CVI.CHE 105 or SHA!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would love to shoutout my manager, and bestfriend, Alex Negash. He saw potential in me from the start and pushed me to be the female DJ & producer I am today. He encouraged me to get out of my own way and create the life I wanted for myself. I also have to thank my family and closest friends for showing up to every damn show no matter how small or how far. The support I have felt in pursing this career is like no other and I am so grateful.
