Meet Koffi Singleton | owner of Koffi’s Jello Bar

We had the good fortune of connecting with Koffi Singleton and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Koffi, do you have some perspective or insight you can share with us on the question of when someone should give up versus when they should keep going?
In business you have to trust the process. The first 3 years in business is the absolute hardest in most cases you spend more money & barely see a profit. But as long as you have a clientele & it continues to grow through word of mouth. that is the very reason why you should never give up.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am a paralegal. I have been with the same law firm for 27 years. I work in a very fast pace environment & have a huge amount of responsibilities. I started working for my company at the age of 21 years old & have worked my way up the ladder of success. while working I was also able to receive my degree in bachelor science & It was very challenging working during the day & taking classes at night but I was determined to get it done. it wasn’t easy it took a whole lot of discipline & sacrifice but with those two ingredients you will succeed. In 2013 I became an entrepreneur & started my own jello shot company called Koffi’s Jell-O Bar. If someone would have told me eleven years ago that my business was going to take off the way that it did I would never have believed them. it was like a whirlwind of success I incorporated my business in April of 2013 & in June of 2013 I was booked for a vh1 reality tv show premiere party & the rest is history. it was very difficult having a 9 to 5 & running a thriving business I had to endure a lot of sleepless nights but it was worth it & if I had it to do all over again I wouldn’t do anything different I am very proud of all of accomplishments & my ambition to want more in life & with that I always strived to be & do better.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Wow I have so many. If I’m in Miami a nice evening out in Wynwood is always a great vibe there are so many good restaurants & bars in Wynwood. but Wynwood market place is a must I would also highly recommend Papi Steak & Ocean prime. But if your ever in my hometown the Big apple NYC. I would recommend TAO NYC, SEI LESS & JUE LAN CLUB. Those are my top 3 places to dine & the cocktails are amazing.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to give a very special thank you to the two most important people in my life.
My mother Noel Mays & My daughter Tyler Singleton. Thank you so much for all of your love & support & giving me words of encouragement in my most changeling moments. It is because of you that I continue to work hard & push forward.
I love you both dearly
Koffi
