We had the good fortune of connecting with Kristen Mager and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kristen, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Honestly, it was just one of those ‘aha’ moments that brought my love of boho style, decorating, and marketing expertise together in an unexpected and beautiful way. My daughter asked for a beach picnic for her 17th birthday, literally a few days beforehand. With such short notice, I couldn’t hire anyone, so I took on the effort myself, designing the tablescape and surrounding decor for a party of fourteen girls. I was surprised when several people came up to me that day to take pictures of the setup and ask for my business card. That’s how the concept for The Boho Social in Palm Beach was born.
What should our readers know about your business?
I’m still in the early stages of launching my pop-up picnic business, but I’ve already learned that consistency and staying true to my brand are key factors in distinguishing what I bring to the table. My love for all things boho comes through for every client and their guests. From the color scheme, dreamy centerpieces, candles, and vintage drinkware, no two tables are the same, making each Boho Social in Palm Beach event extra special and one of a kind.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my besties were in town, we’d definitely be spending a lot of time in downtown Delray Beach (the Ave), which has so many cool spots for brunch, shopping, and happy hour. I really love the rooftop bar and pool at The Ray Hotel. And the watermelon mimosa at Caffe Luna Rosa right along the beach is simply to die for.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’d be remiss if I didn’t thank my daughter Alex for having me scramble for the last-minute party idea lol, and all of her friends who showed up on the beach. And then there’s my friend Lauren, who helped me lug everything onto the sand without a wagon or anything I have now. I’m also super grateful for my son Shane and tribe of strong, beautiful ladies who continue to encourage me daily in this whimsical journey.
