We had the good fortune of connecting with Kristina Kubler and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kristina, how do you think about risk?
As an immigrant from Venezuela, I understand that taking risks is a crucial part of pursuing one’s dreams. Leaving my home country and starting a new life in the United States was a significant gamble, but one that I knew I had to take. I’m grateful for the opportunities that this country has provided me, and I’ve learned that taking calculated risks can lead to tremendous growth and success. In my career, taking risks has allowed me to transition from being an esthetician to creating my own skincare line, PIPA. It’s been a challenging but rewarding journey, and I’m proud to have built a brand that helps young people develop healthy skin habits. My experience as an immigrant has taught me to embrace risk and uncertainty, knowing that they can lead to incredible opportunities and personal growth.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
As an esthetician and a mom, I noticed a gap in the market for skincare products that are gentle, effective, and specifically designed for young kids. My own children were eager to start taking care of their skin, but I couldn’t find products that met my standards. Recognizing an opportunity, I decided to create a line that would not only benefit my own kids but also help other young people develop healthy skincare habits from an early age.
Thanks to my industry expertise, I can assure you that we are more vigilant than most in excluding toxins and hormone disruptors from our formulas, recognizing that young skin is more susceptible to absorption and potential long-term damage. Striking the perfect balance of ingredients is no easy feat; it involves meticulous care to ensure our products are not only safe and effective but also feel amazing on young skin. We understand that parents are seeking solutions that prioritize their children’s health and well-being, and we take pride in being a trusted source in their journey to provide the best possible care for their kids.
It hasn’t all been easy though. Every decision I’ve made has been a challenge in its own way. From designing the logo and bottles to selecting colors, the right ingredients, and the best laboratory, each decision has required careful consideration and thoughtfulness. I’ve had to balance my vision with feedback from others, consider the competition and market trends, and trust my instincts to create a brand identity that truly represents PIPA’s values and personality. It’s a continuous process, and I’m always striving to improve and refine our brand’s visual language.
With PIPA, I’m aiming to build a legacy for my family, promoting self-care, wellness, and empowerment for future generations.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If I had a friend visiting I would plan the perfect day:
Breakfast at la Boulangerie in Coral Way
Facial at KKmakeup in Key Biscayne
Lunch at Omakai in Coconut Grove
Drinks at Sugar in Brickell City Center
Hangout at the Cleat Bar in Key Biscayne
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to give a shoutout to my family and team. Having a supportive family and team behind me has been crucial in my journey. They encouraged me to take risks, pushed me to keep going when things got tough, and provided valuable insights and expertise. I truly believe that having a strong support system is essential to achieving success in both life and business. It’s easy to doubt ourselves, but when we have people who believe in us, it gives us the confidence and strength to keep pushing forward. So, I’m grateful for my family and team, who have been my rock and my biggest cheerleaders.
