Meet Lance O | Owner of Kulcha Shok Reggae DJ & MC

We had the good fortune of connecting with Lance O and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lance, can you share the most important lesson you’ve learned over the course of your career?
The key to life is happiness so if you do what you love you will always be happy. You just have to stick with it because eventually it will work….it has to.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Well I went into radio because of my love for music and simultaneously became a DJ. I feel my ear is what sets me apart from everyone else. I have picked major hits and given credit for it as well. So many things to proud & excited about: starting my own TV program that came from dream of combining everything I love into one thing, also making Tanto Metro & Devonte in a duo with me breaking their song on radio called ‘Everyone Falls in Love & lastly growing my own company in a top reggae company & brand in the US.

I got to where I am with hard work, persistence and never considered failure or quitting an option. I just did it until I succeeded. Nothing in life is easy if you want it bad enough you will get it.

Lessons are that you never give up and that failure is the key to success

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Yes it was my beloved mother who told me ‘Make sure you do something you love, because if you’re going to live in this country, you have to work.’

The other who deserves credit is our supporters/fans, they really never stop supporting.
