Hi La’Risa, have you ever found yourself in a spot where you had to decide whether to give up or keep going? How did you make the choice?
If you are still head over heels for your business, keep going. If you still have the fight in you, keep going. If you are willing to make the necessary adjustments required to have a successful business, keep going. If your business was not founded on purpose and servitude, give up. If you have to lie to people to make a profit, give up. If you do not want to invest in your business anymore, give up. If you are no longer bringing value to others, give up. These questions give me perspective each, and every time I feel overwhelmed in my business.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my friends were visiting the area, my husband and I would bring her back to our home-Set Apart Gardens Farm! I live in the boonies, and for most, the country can be a place of solitude, peace, and rejuvenation. I would teach her how to aim while shooting at the targets and host a wine tasting session with our homemade wine! Later that evening, my husband would roast an entire lamb on the grill to celebrate her visit. After a few cups of wine, lamb, music, and pure conversation. I would escort her to our Guest suite that overlooks the beautiful trees and flowers for a good night’s rest. Then in the morning, we would enjoy coffee or mimosas on the front porch in our rocking chairs! After that, the day would lead itself – the farm’s our oyster!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Sonya Dunbar, better known as the Geriatric Toothfairy! I’ve known her for a very long time, and she has always given me opportunities to stretch myself and an unwavering expectancy for me to excel in doing so. Yes of course I had a business before I knew Sonya, but the faith she put in me gave me the confidence that I was lacking. She was the wind beneath my wings. I would have never known that I had the ability to rise to the occasion if there was no occasion to rise to. She was the first person that trusted me to edit her book and the first person to trust me to coach her through the book creation process. We went from a blank page to a bookshelf ready in a few months! After helping Sonya become a serial author, I found a passion that has resulted in a 6 figure earning business and counting!
