We had the good fortune of connecting with Laudz Fenelus and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Laudz, how do you think about risk?
Risks have played a huge part in my life! Especially with my music. As much as I love music and I love making music it requires a lot of investment. I have to invest in myself before anyone else will invest in me. It is a huge risk that sometimes I don’t even realize how much I’m actually investing. I just believe in myself so much that there’s no need for a second thought. Risks are very important to any career if you want to advance you won’t get there by playing it safe all the time. The greatest opportunities will never be in a safe zone.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am a Singer-Songwriter , I have been writing music professionally for as long as I can remember! Writing has always been a part of my life. I moved to the United States not speaking a lick of English and I became fascinated with the language very fast as it only took me a year to fully learn and speak. I started by gaining interest in music and then poetry and consequently storytelling and even pilots! My path led me to focus more on songwriting since it includes my two passions. I got to where I am professionally by focusing on exactly what I wanted to do and then actively pursue it every-time from start to finish. Nothing is ever easy especially if you’re a perfectionist. Getting inspired to write is easy, ideas come flowing within seconds, however after the idea comes logic and structure and revising making sure it is perfect. I’ve learned many lessons along the way. The biggest lesson I’ve learned is persistence and patience. Nothing comes overnight. I want the world to know that I am never giving up and through perseverance and great music I will get to where I want to be.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Definitely, south beach for the sunrise, then lunch at the Baia club at the Mondrian Hotel . And then dinner and drinks at Rivertail waterfront restaurant in Ft lauderdale.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
There are so many to thank for where I am today and where I am going. I’m so grateful for my family who continuously support me through everything I do. My friends who are always there to help every time I have a photoshoot , or video shoot. My engineer at the Forever Current studios Edwin Estacio. I have been working with him since my career started and it has been nothing but amazing. My amazing photographer Carlos Fugon who is always there every time I need a last minute shoot. All of these individuals deserve recognition in my story. It definitely takes a team to do this and I’m so beyond grateful for them.
