We had the good fortune of connecting with Laura Saltman and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Laura, any advice for those thinking about whether to keep going or to give up?
“Don’t give up. Just let go.” That is one of the major lessons I have learned through writing my All books. It’s our own sense of urgency to create the very thing we feel so called to do that keeps us stuck in the nethers. We have such a passion we want to share or showcase and that very passion can lead us to desperation and not inspiration. When you let go and trust there is a greater plan it will come to fruition more easily if you “follow the yellow brick road.” IE – Stay in the now and stop letting distractions (the evil witch, aka your ego and subconsious mind) trip you into going back or giving up. The power truly is within to create the life you see ahead of you. I tell people to use the See It, Feel It, Be It, Believe It method. See it in your mind’s eye. Feel it in your body how it feels to have the thing you want so passionately to create. Be it by following joyful/inspired actions. Believe it by letting go with faith it will arrive.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am an author, a speaker, an intuitive life coach, a meditation teacher, a metaphysical teacher and TV/Digital Host. I transitioned away from my first career as an entertainment reporter and into the mindfulness/meditation and metaphysical world a few years ago. I never would have imagined that for myself but sometimes our soul has larger contracts to fulfull that we don’t understand until we arrive at the destination. And once you get there it’s a neverending world you want to explore. I also still love TV and creating video content. In the beginning I shied away from video for fear of being judged but once I worked through my insecurities on a psyche level, I cleared the way to be able to do all things that brought me joy and purpose. What a feeling that is! The journey from Hollywood to wellness has been fraught with many difficulties that I now realize were part of the journey. The moon has both light and dark days and so to do you. It’s how you light up the dark days that matter most. You can let it burn you or you can build on it letting the darkness bring you to a place of reflection. When you struggle the most is when you need to find that inner light and turn it on. We often look to outside sources to “fix” whats wrong with us emotionally/physically and mentally and what I have learned through channeling as an intuitive and working with clients who have crossed over (Yes, Spirits are my clients too!) is that NOTHING is fixed by outside forces. It all comes from YOU.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
The beach is my solace. The sand, the surf, the smell of the ocean air just brings me to instantaneous peace. So I would always pick a place that is on the water. I also love the intracoastal with the boats passing by too. There are some fantastic restaurants where you can just hang by the water, have a drink and some yummy food and chill. In the same vein any hotel with a pool that overlooks the ocean is getting my money and the same goes for spas in the area. If you can have a massage by the sea, drop everything and do it!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My dad. Everyone needs a cheerleader throughout their life. That one person who sees for you what you can’t seen in yourself. My dad was always that for me. Guiding me to find my passion and then go for it. He would help me in anyway he could whether it was life advice or practical wisdom like how to navigate a challenge or even legal and professional advice. He always understood me and was my most supportive guide on earth. He recorded everything I ever did on TV and was always eager to share it with friends and family. I miss him daily and now he is my most supportive angel in heaven.
