We had the good fortune of connecting with Leeanne Grunow and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Leeanne, how do you think about risk?
You have to take shots. Some shots feel safe with known outcomes and set guidelines.
Most do not. Most are trying again, learning, trying, and taking relevant protective measures.

Plan/Strategize the shots you take, and know it will not go as expected. It’s a wave, new things are constantly coming your way. Be organized and able to pivot.
Take risks, and be confident in WHY you are taking it. Dont take a risk out of panic.

We have been able to look back at the risks we have taken that have allowed us to become a part of our community and its an amazing feeling.
Part of what has allowed us to grow is knowing when to stop taking a risk or say no. Say No. Not every risk/opportunity is for you.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
We opened up Strong P.O.L.L.O with a love for cooking and connecting with people.
Its delightful to be a part of your community and share your skill with people.

We began a Latin & American Gluten-Free fusion; growing from green markets, catering, service location, and upcoming food trailer.
It’s a ride. We grew, we changed, we paused, we stretched, we risked, we experimented, and we researched.

The challenges are constant. Some are easy, and some grip you in the pit of your stomach while you figure it out. Figuring it out is a skill, and it’s learnable.
Most challenges are from the outside world, so communication is a must.
Communication also varies depending on the challenge!

So really, you must figure it out, forgive yourself, continually learn, and get going.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Studying at FIU in Miami was the best. The professors with The Chaplin School of Hospitality and Tourism Management all have background and experiences in the field. There is always someone to reach out to, or who will reach out for you.
The best.
Through FIU I connected with Bacardi Primos (Team) who have been a huge influence in my development.
