We had the good fortune of connecting with Leins & Kira Rios and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Leins and Kira, can you walk us through the thought process behind this type of business’ concept?
Tenth Level Tavern was created as a gaming paradise that feels just like your living room—only with cold beers and a little more excitement! Growing up, we all logged countless hours gaming, and now that we’re of legal drinking age, why not combine the two? So, in 2015 the founder Joseph Cammisa started South Florida’s first Arcade Bar, built by gamers, for gamers—where nerds and geeks can unite over their favorite games and brews! We took over the bar in 2023 and expanded it to what it is today.

What should our readers know about your business?
We’re an Arcade Bar at heart, but we don’t stop there! Our calendar is jam-packed with awesome events like Nerd Trivia Nights, Rock Band Karaoke, 80s and 90s Karaoke, and live music from amazing local bands. We love to keep things fresh with themed nights and monthly video game tournaments that’ll bring out your competitive spirit! And since we don’t have a kitchen, we partner with fantastic food trucks, so there’s always something delicious to munch on while you game! Kira has her accounting degree and Leins has owned a music studio and motion graphic design business which gave us the experience needed business-wise. We wouldn’t say this was an easy process but, when you love the culture of the field your in, it will always be more rewarding. The main challenge has been increasing prices which every business is facing. One thing about our story is compared to most arcade bars out there- we do not have investors. We are just two nerds in it together that love the gaming/nerd community.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If we had a friend in town, I’d definitely take them to Funky Buddha, just across the street! It’s one of Florida’s most beloved breweries, and they’ve got delicious food and some fun pinball machines to boot. And if you’re in the mood for some tasty Mexican cuisine, Quvo Tacos is a must-visit! This family-owned gem serves up mouthwatering dishes alongside craft beer—what’s not to love? Another superb brewery is 3 Sons in Dania. Its right next to the airport so its a perfect stop if your flying in. The staff is like family and is definitely a local favorite.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
We’d love to give a big shoutout to our amazing partners, The Heart Container! They help us run our tournaments and host our Rockband karaoke and 80’s/90’s nights. They’ve truly become part of our TLT family, and we couldn’t do it without them!
