We had the good fortune of connecting with Le’Quanda Archer and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Le’Quanda, how do you think about risk?
I think about risks as uncertainty, the unknown, stepping out on faith if you will. Choosing to become an entrepreneur was a risk that I was willing to take with the mindset that failure isn’t an option. Starting sheshoetique, I was taking a risk when choosing to invest while living paycheck to paycheck at the time, and being a single mother. The risk was one I was willing to take and I have no regrets!
What should our readers know about your business?
What sets Sheshoetique apart from others are the unique pieces that are available on the site. I am not ordinary, my style isn’t ordinary, so I created Sheshoetique for the extraordinary. I have come a long way, with little to no knowledge about being an entrepreneur so, I am most excited and proud of my growth. I’ve come this far by being persistent, patient, and positive. Entrepreneurship isn’t easy, therefore I try not to beat myself up, keep in mind that everything in life may come with ups and downs. There is a quote that I like to reference; “Do not measure your success by someone else’s ruler.” I want the world to know that there is more to come, more to see, and my story isn’t over yet.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If you live in the central Florida area, & happen to have a friend paying you a visit, take them to Cafe Tu Tu Tango, or Rock & Brews. Thank me later.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
In my story I would like to give the Glory to a few, but most importantly my mother! My mother has a strong work ethic, and worked very hard to provide for my siblings and I. My mother came to America from Jamaica in the 80’s, filed for her siblings, and took care of 6 children. My mother has always been one of my greatest motivators and loudest cheerleader. I also have a friend who is a serial entrepreneur, she never sleeps. I have to be honest, she sparked my interest in becoming an entrepreneur. She may have lit the fire in me, but who keeps the fire burning? My children, my partner, mommy, my sisters-In-love, & other wonderful women in my circle who are also entrepreneurs.
