We had the good fortune of connecting with Lesan and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lesan, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
Just like any business, one thing we can all agree on is deadlines. Clients want right then and now. Sure we have those flexible clients that are truly a “no rush” client which we are all grateful for. I’ve been designing since 2015 and I learned and picked up on it all on my own. It came so easy to me. When is comes to illustrator and photoshop (which I use on a daily basis) one thing I am very talented at is the speed of my work. I do a lot of production design for marketing prints such as business cards, flyers, full on store front window wraps etc… as long as I’m using a windows PC, I have mastered all of those shortcuts. My turnaround time can range from 30 mins to max 2 hours and I feel that is a huge factor in my success. That is why I never charge by the hour, it just won’t work for me.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I have come a long way since I started freelancing. Everyday I learn and everyday I grow. One thing that I really love is seeing my designs out there in the real world. It’s always a sight for my sore eyes 👀

I have definitely experienced many difficulties in this industry, especially the production side of it. Just the whole catabory of colors alone is a whole other world. Did you know there are professionals out there who study color ? Those folks combine and create new colors it’s crazy. Anyway, the issues I have had would mainly involve color. The physical print comes off brighter or darker than the digital proof.

One of the hardest things to explain to clients digital colors and real world colors are two different spectrums. On the commercial printer settings, it will never be 100% exact good 98% Match.

That’s why I like to stick to the regular colors not involved in anything but for real world printing. my color pallets vary but not nothing outside of this world. Simplicity is key.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Well if we are talking about Miami dade county for sure ! My favorite pasta place to visit every so often is cafe Prima Pasta on north beach. Perfect environment, food and wine 🍷 I’m a sucker for chicken pasta !

I do enjoy roller blading, I love hitting the board walk on Miami Beach and cruise for about 2 or 3 hours. Then of course, hit the water right after to cool off ! Ahh I love Miami 🌴 ☀️

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I manage all in house graphic design as well as front end web design. There is one thing I’m not capable of doing and that is the backend of web development. I’m super grateful for having a strong knowledge member on my side who handles all that good stuff. His name is Shuvo and he is all the way from Bangladesh 🇧🇩. Not every client will need backend work, but when they do I can count on Shuvo who has been with me for about 5 years now.
