We had the good fortune of connecting with Linda & Ian Jerrell and we’ve shared our conversation below. Heritage Art Galleries is a Fine Art and Custom Framing shop owned by husband and wife team Linda and Ian Jerrell.
Hi Linda & Ian, what habits do you feel helped you succeed?
I think we work really well together as a team. Not just as a couple, but as business partners too. We’re definitely both creative, but Ian is a lot more technical and thinks of the functionality of the art design whereas I think more about how the design will make you feel. We play to each other’s strengths and balance each other. Ian and I love learning and developing ideas and projects together. We always have our antenna up, looking for ways to be creative and think outside the box. Because our business is artistic and custom in nature, there will always be something new in every project. We like to think of ourselves as “creative problem solvers” – Nothing is impossible.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Q: Please tell us more about your business A: Heritage Art Galleries is located in Tamarac, Florida and has been in business for almost four decades. We are family-owned and operated with a variety of art services including custom art and picture framing, custom mirrors, and art restoration. We also work with interior designers and commercial businesses providing custom framing, art sourcing, and art consulting on both large scale and small projects. What we offer is a product that is one-of-a-kind and made to fit perfectly with your interior design. Our broad knowledge of quality materials and techniques help us to create the best solution for you or your business. Q: We’d love to hear what sets you apart from others A: Our customers always tell us that one of the main reasons they come to us is our service. We are committed to providing superior customer service with a family approach. For example, we recently had a customer who was having art framed as an anniversary gift for his wife. The pandemic caused a shortage of plexiglass throughout the country, and it was needed to complete the order. We were so disappointed we couldn’t get the order to them in time. We decided to make a digital anniversary card with photos of the artwork so our customer had something to present to his wife on their special day. They were thrilled!
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
We are still fairly new to Florida ourselves (4 years), so we are sort of tourists too. When people come to visit we tend to be exploring new things right along with them. The beach is of course a must. I am partial to Lauderdale-by-the-Sea. It’s beautiful, quaint, and close by… What’s a visit to Florida without an airboat ride in the Everglades? And for dinner, I would probably take them to “Pasta and…” a delicious Italian restaurant in Margate. For a quick and unique bite, definitely “Los Bocados” in Parkland.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
We’d love to dedicate our shoutout to Peter Mason from the Tamarac North Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce. We met Peter and joined the chamber early on and couldn’t be happier with the level of dedication this chamber provides. Peter has been a great support in helping us connect to our community and the people and businesses in it.
