We had the good fortune of connecting with Linda Scheele and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Linda, what makes you happy? Why?
My son, my granddchildren. Nature. Happiness is not found outside it comes from within. Being grateful makes me happy. Being compassionate makes me happy. I lost two children 15 and 17 years ago. My accountant gave me the book by Wayne Dyer “The Power of Intention” and it changed my life. I love his quote “If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change. We only have the present; we can’t change the past and the future hasn’t happened. It doesn’t mean that we can’t plan our lives but we have to live in the now. Some people live in the past and others the future. They are not really living. I think having a purpose in life; a reason for getting up in the morning is happiness.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I started working for a Deli Distributorship as a salesperson in 1973. I lacked confidence in my ability and really didn’t believe I was smart enough to be a successful salesperson.. I left the company 15 years later as a VP to move to Florida to start my own business. My first business was a food brokerage company. I represented 22 companies from the US and Canada and sold their products in Supermarket chains from Maine all the way to Florida. I am very proud I did this by myself. I have had two other companies and when I closed my wine distribution company in Florida, I decided to become a yoga teacher. I am extremely proud that at the of 72 I became Certified in 5 different types of yoga and a professional speaker on Health & Wellness and Aging in Reverse. That was five years ago and I just launched my online yoga and professional speaking company. What sets me apart is my purpose. My ability to connect which is so important for being successful. I believe it is never too late to become passionate and inspired in your life.

Any great local spots you’d like to shoutout?
The Norton Museum in West Palm Beach is beautiful. If there were an event at the Kravitz Center in West Palm, I think anyone would enjoy that. West Palm, Delray Beach and Boca have great restaurants. South Beach is lots of fun for a few days. If she was a really great friend, I think we would spend hours talking and having a couple of glasses of wine!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
There are so many people that have helped or mentored me during my life. My Mom and Dad were great examples growing up. When I was 30, I met a man, Lon Frocione and he hired me to work in his company. There were no women working as salespeople in the meat industry but he taught me and supported me. He gave me confidence in myself that I could do so many things I never felt capable of. Five years ago when I decided to become a yoga teacher at 72, I lived in Yoga Hari’s Ashram for 6 weekends to get Certified in Yoga. It was the most incredible experience and I shall never forget his spiritual teachings.
