We had the good fortune of connecting with Lindsey Capron and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Lindsey, why did you pursue a creative career?
I pursued an artistic/creative career because I firmly believe that’s my TRUE life’s calling. Even as a little girl, I just knew. My entire life has been exposed to “outside of the box” thinking where creative and artistic expression knows no bounds. I grew up in a household where artistic expression was encouraged. I even went to a performing arts school my entire life where I was able to explore what kind of creative I was, skills I was proficient in, and what I liked. After spending 10 years in pharmacy after graduating from high school, I knew that me pursuing an artistic career would make me feel more alive and free. I’m a creative. Always have been and always will be.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
As a Christian blogger, it’s beautiful to see how lives are being impacted and touched by the writings that I’ve been divinely inspired to write. It doesn’t only travel locally but all over the world. Also, as a web designer, it’s also fulfilling to bring the vision of my client’s web design to reality. What sets me apart from others whether I’m blogging or web designing is that I truly make that special effort to connect with the reader or clients with organic, raw, honest, transparency. For my clients in web design, I focus on the needs and vision of what the client wants. I listen to them, give them guidance on making the decisions of what’s right for them while also having them look at the bigger picture for future growth for their blog or business. In blogging, I give the readers honest biblical truth while sharing my personal accounts with humor and transparency. It’s ultimately all about making the connection. My goal is to make sure both my readers and clients leave with something valuable. Where I am today was certainly not an easy journey. Lots of prayer, seeking support, and asking for help from others who I trusted definitely helped me overcome the challenges. The challenges never end since they will always be there. However, I’ve learned that no man or woman is an island. We all need support. I’ve also learned that our fears can definitely stop us from starting and doing what we’re truly called to do. I want the world to know that my brand and story isn’t another religious or Christian cliche. I firmly believe that you can serve God, serve others, and be fabulous doing it.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Day 1: As soon as my best friend grabs their bag(s) from their flights, we’re getting some food. We would travel around Fort Lauderdale to find some good Caribbean food. Once bags are put away, I would take them to “The W” Hotel in A1A near Fort Lauderdale Beach and go to “The Living Room” to relax and enjoy the beach scene. Day 2: We’re hitting up the beach again. Maybe Hollywood Beach, Hallendale Beach, or Miami Beach and checking out sites and shops. Grab a pizza. Day 3: It would be a day to relax but go Downtown Las Olas for sushi or maybe tacos for dinner Day 4: All Day Barbecue at my house Day 5: We’re going on a yacht or brunch cruise in Miami or Fort Lauderdale Day 6: It would be a “Rest and Relax” day: Massages and Spa day Day 7: Get some breakfast or lunch at IHOP or Denny’s before they return back home. As you can tell, I’m a beach girl through and through. However, I do find Hollywood Beach fun and exciting. Also downtown Miami is a cool place to check out as well.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
First things first: I credit ALL of my success to Jesus Christ because I know without a doubt that I could not do what I’m doing without Him. Also, God has truly blessed me with a village of people near and far who helped shaped my success and who I am today. I must give a shoutout to my awesome husband Donovan Capron. He constantly sharpens and pushes me to be my very best. He’s a very well-rounded creative who is very proficient in visual + digital arts, music, and audio engineering. He’s my eyes and ears showing me what I can fine tune and how I can walk in the spirit of excellence. Shoutout to my dad, Cecil Nolan, who is always there cheering me on from the other side of country. His wisdom, love, and encouragement when I feel like quitting always keeps me in the game. Brian Harris and Genevieve Carvil-Harris are a COLOSSAL blessing in my life. They’re awesome friends but more like family to me. The support, mentorship, abundance of love that they have poured into me has been pure gold. I thank God for them as I feel like they are very much part of my success. I would also like to give a shoutout to my awesome global blogging community, my friends and family in California, Georgia, the Bahamas, UK, who constantly cheer me on.
