We had the good fortune of connecting with Laura Sintes and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Laura, every day, we about how much execution matters, but we think ideas matter as well. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
Before we decided to open our own School of Rock, we experienced it as clients. Our children went to the original school in Miami many years ago. We realized it made such a huge impact on them, not only in the musical abilities, but also in their confidence and social life. After that, we realized that there could be a franchising opportunity, and we decided to jump on the chance even though neither one of us is a musician.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
What sets us apart from other businesses is our ability to enrich lives through music. We are proud to say that School of Rock is a place where kids feel part of the community. We provide a safe, accepting and encouraging environment for kids to grow into not only better musicians, but better people.
It was not easy to get to where we are today, we’ve had our share of challenges, but overall it has been a wonderful journey. The main lesson has been to surround ourselves with a strong team, to train them well and empower them to succeed.
What’s different about School of Rock in comparison to traditional music schools, is that our students have the opportunity to perform on stage and to be part of a band. This aspect of the experience, allows them to realize the importance of working as a team, which is a valuable life skill.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
The shoutout goes to our team of dedicated instructors, who besides being incredible musicians and artists, are also committed to passing on the torch to a new generation of kids. They inspired them and motivate them to become better everyday!
