We had the good fortune of connecting with Lisa Seid and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Lisa, what matters most to you?
I would have to say, honesty is my most valued principle. It’s the foundation of trust which is paramount in creating emotional safety. This is critical in my profession as a therapist where I help people heal deep emotional wounds that have often come about from lack of honesty and broken trust in their closest relationships. I’ve also found that because of those experiences, people not only find it difficult to trust others but to trust themselves too. We have to be able to trust not only those around us but most importantly ourselves if we hope to succeed in our personal or professional lives. Like so many of my clients, I’ve had my own fair share of painful life experiences which I’ve worked to heal from, so I personally value honesty immensely too.
What I’ve learned in my many years, as both a therapist and human, is that something truly special happens when we’re able to feel safe in our relationships. It allows us to feel seen, heard, and valued but the road there is paved in honesty, transparency in what we say and do. It’s only through the process of being vulnerable that we’re able to get the feedback as to whether our true self is welcome. If it’s not, we can know it’s not the right fit and proceed accordingly. Yet if it is, a whole new world opens up, one filled with the freedom to be our most authentic selves paving the way for true alignment and success. I genuinely believe each and every person deserves to experience that.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I think what sets me apart from others is that I really have gone through quite a lot over the years and faced challenges most are fortunate not to endure. I’ve learned how important it is to take care of your mental health, be self-aware and fill your life with people that are healthy for you. I want to share the message that no matter how much pain you’ve been through you can find peace and happiness within yourself. You can make something truly good in your life even when it doesn’t seem possible from what you’ve been given. So, I guess my message is one of hope.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
My idea of a good time tends to be out in nature so I’d likely take them to a local state park to go hiking, swimming, or kayaking. I also love outdoor festivals with live music, food, and entertainment so that’d be a must if there was one going on. There usually tends to be interesting things and people to see or meet.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’d like to dedicate my shoutout to my closest friends and family who have loved and supported my journey over the years. You know who you are. I could not be where I am personally or professionally without their guidance to do my own healing as well as bloom in the safety and security of those relationships.
