We had the good fortune of connecting with Logan Jean and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Logan, can you tell us about a book that has had a meaningful impact on you?
A book that I read that had an impact on my way of living is called “The Magic” by Rhonda Byrne, the same author of the best selling book “The Secret”. The Magic is a book that trains your mind on how to be grateful and how to attract good things to you using gratitude. “Whoever has gratitude and appreciation for what he/she already has will be given more, and he/she will have an abundance.”
There are exercises like writing down 10 things that you’re grateful for every morning and saying “The Magic” words Thank You 3 times after every blessing. This book has taught me to be grateful and appreciative for things I take for granted like like my cell phone, some people may not be happy with paying bills but they don’t think about everything that goes into the ability to for you to even speak on the phone with someone across the nation.
This book has taught me to be mindful of how I eat and to be conscious of the breaths that I take, to feel the oxygen fill my lungs and to feel the air release from my body. I recommend this book to anyone that’s trying to reprogram their brain to think positively.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Since we’ve last spoken in 2022, Play That Back FM’s online presence has been growing tremendously! To my surprise the platform where we’ve seen the most growth is on Facebook, the second is Tiktok, and third is Instagram. Play That Back FM is media based platform, it’s a hub to discover the best new music and emerging artists within Hip-Hop. What sets us apart from other media platforms is our roots within media, the range of artists we cover, and the raw style of video interviews we conduct. So far this year our interview with Fat Bible has gone viral and we’ve also interviewed R&B singer Choszn who is currently a rising star in the music industry.
Nothing comes easy and we still have a lot of work to do, it’s about taking risks and sticking to what works and what makes sense in the interim. Within media and entertainment you have to be agile. We’re still standing here today out of pure love for music and innovation. Play That Back FM will be producing monthly parties and will open up our platform to more Miami artists on the rise. We’re looking to work with local Miami clothing brands, promoters, graffiti artists, and musicians. Tap in with us!
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
When my friends come to town I like to hit up places where I can dance and get a drink.
So I like to go to Wynwood of course, but not on the weekends. My favorite spots in Wynwood are Coyo Taco, 1-800-Lucky, and also Savor which is on the outskirts of Wynwood.
I like going to The Urban in Overtown on Friday’s and Sunday’s as well as it’s neighboring restaurant Red Rooster.
I do like my neighborhood which is North Miami, NO-MI village is a cool outdoor space and I also enjoy going to Da Cave for drinks and dancing.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to shout out my guy @FatBible who’s an incredible rapper and all around wonderful person. He is the Lango Lord and a true influence to many. He recently gave me my flowers and let me know what my strengths are and gifts that he sees in me.
I also wanna shout out my mom for always being supportive of my dreams, shout out to my pops for being a great role model for what it means to be a man and entrepreneur . Shout out circle of homies that’s doing their thing: Jessie, Jean, Jeff, Shawn, Chazz, Taurean and Carlos.
