We had the good fortune of connecting with Trixie Belo-Osagie and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Trixie, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Throughout my professional career, I have held positions of Influence and power. With that being said, I have always had the motivation to assist others in making their work atmosphere comfortable, unified, professional, and diverse. That is the best way I felt I can make a difference and give back to the community as a whole.

What was your thought process behind starting your own business? Throughout my professional career, I have held positions of Influence and power. With that being said, I have always had the motivation to assist others in making their work atmosphere comfortable, unified, professional, and diverse. That is the best way I felt I can make a difference and give back to the community as a whole.

What’s one type of conventional advice that you disagree with?

If I were to apply that question to my personal and professional career, I would say that people always tell you, “you need the experience in order to get the job.” If the leaders of this world always use that as a steppingstone of advice, they would never advance and make strides to get further in life. In my opinion, the most perfect way to be is “perfectly imperfect.”

Risk-taking; How do you think about risk, what role has risk taken played in your life/career?

In my opinion “Risk taking” is what makes your life and your career a challenge that you must conquer. If you do not take risk, you do not accomplish ultimate success. Mistakes are meant to improve your livehood and general stance of career and life.

What habits do you feel help you succeed?

My habits are both a blessing and a curse. I am a perfectionist by nature; therefore, I apply that to my every day life. Additionally, I am a habitual helper regardless of the situation and I always give individuals the benefit of the doubt when they are in need. If I help, I help because I can but never expecting anything in return. This is most times good, but sometimes it can be bad.

What is the most important factor behind starting your own business?
I was at a standstill in my career whereas I did not feel I was giving back and making a difference. When the opportunity arose my husband and had many discussions and decided this was an essential venture to embark on. We researched and dove in headfirst without looking back. It was the best decision of our life. Meaning, we love what we do and do what welove. Who can really ask for anything more than that accomplishment?

What is the most important lesson your business career has taught you?
Though out my business career, I have learned patience and understanding. People that hold title of power in an organization are not always right. I now assess both sides of every situation and come to a comprehensive and objective understanding, whereas all involve parties feel that they are being heard.

Work life balance: how has your balance changed over time, how do you think about the balance?

I believe work life balance is a key component of success. If you just work hard and are continuously in grind mode but do not apply a stable balance you will eventually get burnt out and your career will then be at a standstill. All individuals, men and women, must learn that you must incorporate your family and friends within your career path.

How did you come up with the idea for your business?

In the environment that we live in and the climate of the world today, We knew we needed to make a difference as a family. Humans constantly seek and yearn for success coupled with ingenuity, originality, and respect. As a woman I believe my accomplishments as a business owner is measured by the footprint I make in this world and those who I am able to lend my knowledge to help advance them in their careers.. Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We woud wake up and go for a walk or do some yoga or pilates, then have a nice protein breakfast. We would have to go to a nice spa and have lunch in one of Miami’s restaurant s with a beautiful view such as Mr. C.’s. For the rest of the day it would be a relaxing mode of napping and watching girlie flicks with a few cocktails. The next day would have to be a day of visiting some museums and art galleries as I am very much into contemporary art. Fun stuff in Miami is we have so many amazing restaurants that I like to explore, I love driving to the Keys and exploring little gems and just enjoying nature. I also go to a lot of sports events, I love the Miami Heat, the Dolphins and this season F1 debuted in Miami that was a few days of experiencing energetic supreme fast cars. There’s always something fun happening in Miami year round. Art Basel is always fun in Miami they city just buzzes all non stop with fun events.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My shoutout would be 1st to my husband Lateef who always supports me and always provides me with the A HA Moments of life and the experiences we encounter, and then to my tribe/squad who always supportive and tell me the truth. There’s an organization called LEAP for Ladies that I sit on the board. I am empowered by these ladies because our program provides and empowers women to navigate the barriers faced during reentry into our everyday world. I am truly amazed about the strength of these women who keep pushing due to so many tragedies they have encountered in their lives.
