We had the good fortune of connecting with LoLo Rachelle and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi LoLo Rachelle, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
Without risk, you aren’t going to achieve the life you desire. Goals and desires are there to take you out of your comfort zone and into the unknown; aka risks must be taken. You have a desire because it’s something you have yet to do. Taking a risk is a nerve wracking experience. It’s scary diving into something you’ve never done! But we have desires for a reason. Our intuition speaks to us through ideas which lead to inspired action. The actions we take lead us to achieving our goals and eventually to the life we desire! It can be very hard to leave your comfort zone and try something new, but in my experience the biggest risks have the biggest rewards. A very great example that I remind myself about frequently is the desire I had to move out of the state I grew up in and start a life in Los Angeles, where opportunities for my career path were abundant. Moving was the greatest blessing. Of course it came with struggles, setbacks, and challenges, but it also came with opportunities, new friends, new experiences and a broader outlook on life. If I hadn’t listened to the intuitive nudge 5 years ago, I wouldn’t be where I am today!

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I have been singing since I was a very small child. I have always loved music and come from a family of musicians. I believe in the power of real music and real stories. The foundational goal of my music is to always be relatable and real. I sing from my heart and soul. I want to be able to give people unique melodies with a relatable and comfortable feel. My tone is very versatile and I blur the line between genres. I love writing for other artists and myself as well.

Getting to where I am today took a lot of time, focus, and determination. This is not an easy industry and people try to take advantage all the time. I’ve learned what boundaries mean and I had a cold hard realization about the intention behind some peoples actions. There have been many many times where I wanted to give up and battling depression and anxiety made things very difficult. Although I occasionally still go through rough patches, the one thing that remains steady is my perseverance and strength when it comes to fulfilling my calling. I was put on this earth to do this and I will not stop until I get it done!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Despite my outgoing personality, I’ve become more of a homebody and introvert in recent years. When I’m not home reading a book, I love hiking with my dog in Malibu; sitting by the ocean refreshes and grounds me. On the weekends I like to hit the melrose trading post for some artistic finds. I enjoy trying new coffee shops around the city and new vegan spots as well. One of my favorite places to eat is Yuko kitchen. Their tofu rice bowl is my most consistent order from any restaurant ever. They have an amazing spot downtown and while I’m over there I like to take some photos in the arts district! Thrift stores are always fun and interesting! Every once in a while I will be a kid and go to six flags with some friends. There’s so much to do here.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My first dedication is and will always be God. I feel God and my angels with me every step of the way. When I feel lost I always have someone to talk to and that is an amazing feeling. I would also like to give thanks to my supportive family who has always been there for me and my dreams. They are never forceful for me to take a more generic path, and are my biggest fans. I appreciate everyone whom I’ve met here in LA that have gone out of their way to help me get closer to my goals. I hope to give back to someone the way they gave to me! The community within my small town have also been supportive since way back when I started singing at local talent shows. I’m grateful for all the random people whom I encountered along the way who have looked me in the eyes and told me I’m going to make it. Nobody owes me anything and it’s amazing to have support from total strangers and longtime friends alike. I love you all!
