We had the good fortune of connecting with Lorraine O’connor and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lorraine, where are your from? We’d love to hear about how your background has played a role in who you are today?
I am from Trinidad and Tobago, in the Caribbean. I grew up with grandmothers who were very connected to nature and the benefits of plants. I spent my teenage years in the South of France, where lavender grows wild and scents of rosemary and mimosa fill the air.

What should our readers know about your business?
My career path has been very eclectic and different, I have always been my own boss until recently. I have dedicated my life to building out the creative industries in the Caribbean. I have produced numerous films, managed artists and major events. While doing this as I have always been passionate about natural healing. childbirth and yoga. I am a certified yoga instructor and doula. About 10 years ago, I got a calling to delve more into aromatherapy in particular. I signed up to study with Aromahead and became a certified aromatherapist. I wanted to share this knowledge with my family, my friends and the rest of the world. Infuse Pure Therapy was born: a holistic healing approach based on aromatherapy.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If you were to visit me in Trinidad, you would have an amazing time especially at Carnival when the country becomes the land of Fete (party). Trinidadians have an innate ability to enjoy themselves. If you are not so much into the party scene, there are beautiful rain forests with rivers and some great hikes. The food in Trinidad is so versatile as we have East Indian specialities, Arabian delights or European dishes. Of course, the food would be washed down with a Carib beer or one of the fine rums from Angostura. Trinidad is an island so there are a lot of beaches and if you are into fishing or diving, you have many choices, especially on our sister island Tobago.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to recognize all those who use essential oils, plants and herbs in the daily lives. All those who appreciate nature and value the amazing potential of the earth and plants.
