We had the good fortune of connecting with Lourdine G and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lourdine, as a parent, what do you feel is the most meaningful thing you’ve done for them?
As a first time mother to a 10 month old baby boy, the most impactful thing I’ve done in terms of my son was leave my 9 to 5 job. I always struggled between stepping out on faith to run my own business or choosing to continue to work for someone. When my 9 to 5 began to intervene with the time and attention that I was able to give to my son, I decided to leave and not look back. That has been the best and most impactful thing that I have done not only for my son but for me also.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Lou’Ture is an online boutique that sells clothing for women. The main objective is to provide great quality clothing, that will allow women the luxury of being fully clothed but, still allowing them to feel confident and sexy..  You don’t have to wear the bare minimum to accomplish being sexy. Being sexy is a state of mind.. I am most proud of the fact that I am doing everything I said I would… What has gotten me here today is PRAYER and FAITH..  I have a long way to go and it hasn’t been easy  but overall I know God is within me so I will NOT fail…. Success is a MUST so Failure is NOT an option! .. One of the most vital lessons I’ve learned along the way is that NOTHING is as easy as it seem and success will take time. I like to think of success  as a tree. A tree starts off as a seed, something so small but once it’s planted into good soil, watered and properly cared for, eventually it begins to grow. Every so often you have to pluck weeds and etc but overall the plant begins to grow and fulfill its purpose. The biggest trees all started off as a seed.. Just know that Everything takes time. Work hard and apply yourself and, although at times you may want to give up  just know that one day your hard work will pay off! And believe in yourself even if no one else does..Stay Focused

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
My best friend is a very fun vibrant person so the perfect place setting for her would be Wynwood down in Miami or Los Angeles, California..Wynwood is a place that is full of art, different kind of people, live music and so much more.. Honestly if you’re down in Miami you can visit Wynwood almost everyday and you’ll always find something to do. As for LA she would fit right in because she’s a Foodie and she loves to shop so I can picture her walking down Rodeo Drive with a burger in her hand saying “OMG this is good” and doing a little salsa dance after every bite! Lol

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’d like to give a shout to my Dad, who told me that if I wanted to leave my job to pursue my business and I felt ready I should. My brother, who always prays for my business and speaks me being a millionaire into existence (and believe me it’s going to happen in Jesus name). My sister who has been supportive of me through EVERYTHINGGGGGGG. She’s my BIGGEST support system!! I owe her so much! My fam Jeffrey who would always be breathing down my neck about me reopening my business. It’s as if he would get mad at me for giving up on myself (at that time)… And last but not least, my son! He is the reason why Lou’Ture is up and running today. My son sparked the flame back within me, gave me the motivation I needed when I needed it most.  Lou’Ture originally launched in 2014 but after years of not being in business, he helped ignite the fire… Thank you son.
