We had the good fortune of connecting with Danielle Mills and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Danielle, do you have any habits that you feel contribute to your effectiveness?
There are a couple key habits that I truly believe have been a huge factor in my success. 1. Never Being Late – Being early to all meetings, events, interviews, and flights has really impacted me. When I was a professional tennis player there was so much riding on being on time, and that pressure and expectation was so engrained in me. Now in business by being early I get opportunities that others don’t get. Typically when you are running late you are stressed out and it doesn’t allow you to be your best. First impressions are so important and if you are early and ready to go before others arrive that can be such a difference maker between getting the contract, or landing the job. 2. Practicing Daily Gratitude – As a mindset coach people often ask me what is something they can do that will truly improve their mindset. By Practicing daily gratitude it not only makes you feel amazing, but it really makes you look at everything from a different perspective. Things you felt were so bad, or not going the way you want become so minuscule when you list out 5-10 things you are grateful for. I have been doing this now for years and its literally changed my life. I have a journal where I write it all down before I go to sleep. 3. Having a Vision Board – There is a lot of power in putting something out there into the universe. The exercise of finding things that are important to you that are goals for the year and compiling them on a vision board is amazing. Every year Im always amazed with how many of my items get completed, or accomplished. That is why you need to shoot big because if you work hard and really manifest big things can happen. One I always like sharing is when I was 12 years old I told myself that I want to live in a high rise in Brickell and Drive a Range Rover. That became my reality in my mid 20s. 4. Understanding that Pressure and Pain are temporary – This one really hits home to me because as a Professional tennis player I had a number of surgeries and my fair share of painful days, weeks, months, and years. In life and in business its so important to remember that Pressure and even Pain are always going to there pushing you when you are on the brink of something huge. Its how you respond and react to that Pressure and Pain that will determine what your success will look like. So I’ve been known to embrace pressure and actually look forward and thrive while in it. Something bigger is on the Verizon and being prepared for it.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
HEADSTRONG LLC is a Mindset Coaching Business. We work with people and companies who want to improve their mindset to reach their full potential. Within Headstrong, we offer Career services like LinkedIn consulting, Resume Building, Interview preparation, and Video Presence training. What separates HEADSTRONG from other companies is the foundation and principles developed by Founder and CEO Danielle Mills, who incorporates what I learned from being a Tennis champion to teach the Champion’s Mindset Program. A unique way of approaching life based on a glass half full mindset with no room for excuses. One of the biggest lessoned I learned along the way is that not focusing on having to do everything perfect. My mindset, and how my brain is wired has allowed me to help so many people, but if I would have waited for everything to be perfect and ready in my business I would have never began.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I was to dedicate this shoutout to my Aunt Sharon Mills. She is a million dollar top producing Realtor in the Jacksonville area and she as been so instrumental in my life and success. When I retired from Professional tennis I did not know what I wanted to do next, and because of my close relationship with my Aunt and our similar personalities I pursued my real estate license, and actually had the opportunity to work with her apart of The Sharon Mills Team. She was always so supportive of my dreams, ambitions and entrepreneurial ventures. I learned so much about giving incredible customer service from her, and truly being diplomatic about business. We push each other constantly, and we are each others biggest supporters. She is somebody who is a true mentor in every sense of the word.
