We had the good fortune of connecting with Loy Hernandez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Loy, looking back, what do you think was the most difficult decision you’ve had to make?
I went to college in Dominican Republic and right after I graduated, I needed to take the decision to either stay in my country where I had family and friends or go back to United States. I ended up choosing to go back to USA where I had more opportunities but I had to step out of my comfort zone leaving my entire life behind and starting from zero in a different country.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I create content for brands and I am in the process of launching my very own beach cover ups line. Is definitely not easy because it takes a lot of work, time, sacrifices and a lot of creativity. I have faced many challenges throughout this process specially in this difficult times that we are currently living but having a very clear goal and believing in yourself will always keep you going even when times gets tough. Surrounding yourself with positive people those that push you, encourage you is also very important is a lesson i have learned the hard way and it makes such a huge difference in your life.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I love Miami diversity so many cool spots to choose from, to hang out and to eat. I believe everyone should try Ceviche 105 their ceviche is one of my favorites in the city and not to mention that their entire menu is delicious. Miami design district is one of my favorite neighborhoods to hang out in Miami. Is amazing to see how much it has changed during this last couple of years. A wide variety of different stores and restaurants to choose from all in one neighborhood. And last but not least you cant leave Miami without taking a day to enjoy some fun in the sun at the beach.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My friend Adrialys Gutierrez who is a fashion/lifestyle blogger @adrialysss was the first person that believed in me and gave me all her support since day one.
