Meet Luis Perez | Founder of Stellus

We had the good fortune of connecting with Luis Perez and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Luis, how do you think about risk?
Risks have have always been a beneficial factor in my life for the most part. You win some & then you lose some. You will never know what the outcome will be but I had to hope for the best given my circumstances. But also at the same time, I would have never know what I misssed out on if I had never taken some of the risks I’ve taken.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
What sets Stellus a part from the others is how we decide to present ourselves within the wide group of already diverse bands. We always try our best to have fun with what we do behind the scenes preparing all ascpects needed for the concerts but our priority is to put on a great show for the community & to continue building it. Getting to where we are today took a lot of trying to get out of my introverted shell to be able to talk, build bonds, & eventually be able to perform for an audience. Nothing came easy from the beginning to present time. A lot of the challenges I had faced while building Stellus felt as if I was not going to be able to overcome a lot of the situations due the amount of stress it can induce. The main lessons I have learned along the way, is to always listen, be respectful, be firm on the vision, & to not let anyone stop you from what you want to do. We would love for the work & story to become an inspiration for all as well as being good role models for those who embrace us.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend was visiting the area & I wanted to show them a great time, I would take them to Miami and other local areas for great food, beaches, museums, art, & overall good vibes South Florida has to offer unlike any other city. There are plenty of activities to do for more than just a week long stay.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would love to dedicate my shoutout to all of the Miami local scene. Without all of the bands, artists, & vendors, it would be even more difficult than it already is to be able to share our music.
