We had the good fortune of connecting with Krislyn Hart and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Krislyn, what role has risk played in your life or career?
Taking a risk is basically how I started my digital marketing business. When I graduated college in 2020 I really wasn’t sure what I wanted to do with my college degree. My degree is in Business Administration with a emphasis in marketing from the Illustrious Bethune-Cookman University. During post grad, I decided I wanted to embark in marketing but I didn’t want to work for a marketing agency. So I just took a risk and started my own digital marketing agency which started with one client in April 2021. As a result of this risk, I have grown my clientele to 8 clients in just 3 months. My goal is to continue monthly growth and provide my clients with stellar service.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My business name is Elle the Digital Marketer. This is my second business but also my #1 business. I specialize in Digital Marketing, Business Administration, Business Development, Branding and Content Creation. I got where I am today by always betting on myself and never giving up. In April 2020 I started this business with a vision and a plan of action. I set goals and kept setting goals for myself and creating the action plan to guide me through the process. I also had to go back to old school marketing and going into small businesses to gain clientele. I’m naturally a people’s person, so going in to speak to people wasn’t hard but following up with the business owners and converting them to clients was challenging at times. I overcame this by just being consistent and realizing that consistency was key in this industry. I’ve learned so many lessons thus far and continue to learn day by day. It has been trials and tears but I want my marketing agency to be the best and that just comes with starting from the bottom and working your way up. Elle the Digital Marketer goal is to rebuild Black Wall Street one business at a time. I know that when we work together and collaborate we can make that happen!
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I reside it Ft.Lauderdale so my first pick will of course be the beach. We will also have to eat at Rocco’s Tacos (best guacamole made fresh at your table).
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
They say it takes a village to raise a child, but it also takes a village to grow a business. Let’s just say my village (parents, family, close friends, and my mentors) is my biggest support team and I appreciate them more than they know.
