We had the good fortune of connecting with Lurvin Valdez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lurvin, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I think that starting my own business was a dream that I always wanted, I am a young, very creative and full of dreams and projects, as a result of my arrival in this country, I decided to undertake a long road towards my dreams, which has not been easy, it has been a road full of obstacles but with the love and support of the people I love and my friends little by little I have achieved it and now I am here starting my business with great faith that I will leave my mark, a positive mark and be a muse and inspiration for others.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am a professional photographer, I differentiate myself from other photographers because my goal is not to make money or become famous, my goal is to capture something special in each image, I like for example to capture the innocence in a child’s smile, to capture the wisdom in an old man’s face, I feel proud of myself because I did not give up and I am excited to be able to reach very high, but above all to learn and help others, getting where I am was not easy, I am a single mother and I am alone in this country and everything for me was a challenge, from the economic because my studies were very expensive plus the equipment and the only thing I had was the support that my daughter’s father gives me and from there I managed to make sacrifices and miracles, but my Lord never abandoned me, one of the lessons I learned is that no matter how impossible and far away your dream seems, do not lose faith and hope because in the process I saw such incredible things, such great miracles, many times I dropped out of school because I couldn’t pay for it, but something kept me coming back. I want everyone to know that what I offer is a word of hope and I motivate them to fight for their dreams because there is nothing more beautiful than working on what you love, because you don’t take it as a job but rather you enjoy it. 😊

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I am a lover of nature and animals, I really enjoy recreational parks full of trees, animals and the smell of nature, what I enjoy the most are outdoor picnics, I really enjoy making my food basket, preparing fruits, sandwiches and others, music and games for the children, but what I love the most is when the sunset comes, the beautiful colors that the sun gives us, another activity would be to watch the sunset by the sea, it is something that I enjoy so much to feel the sea breeze caressing your skin, to see how you feel the clean air enter the deepest part of your lungs and to feel that your life is in harmony. As for restaurants, I really love Greek food, I think it is the most extensive and exquisite gastronomy, one of my favorite restaurants would be ethos in coconut creek, it is located in Premonade shopping center.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Yes, my greatest gratitude is mainly to my God for not leaving me alone on this path, but the person to whom I dedicate and thank for this achievement is my daughter, Dianna Almly-valdez, my little one who in the moments where she saw me falter, she lifted me up with sweet words full of love and encouragement, many times I tried to give up either for economic or health reasons but she told me mom you can do it, you are the best, I thank my family and friends, the father of my daughter who indirectly was a support for me, and my friend Rachel Arvelo because she was the one who motivated me to start my project.
