We had the good fortune of connecting with Marcus Machado and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Marcus, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
My process was building up a foundation first of what i wanted the business to be and what came out of that was QSTV which is music collective of independent artists, producers, DJ’s & creatives
which was put together along with my sister Vicky Casis (Producer/DJ)
It all started during the pandemic, not being
able to tour at the time & everything being at a stand still we didn’t know what was coming next. Our friend had a venue in Brooklyn & let us use the facility to do whatever we wanted to and from that point we invited our friends who were DJs, Producers, Musicians & we start
Filming & producing our own show on YouTube. That’s where QSTV started & we build the brand up to eventually partnering up
with companies like soho house & Pirate
to do our own events showcasing independent
artists, DJs, producers & creatives in New York and even started our own radio show on blast radio where you can hear interviews from artists, beat sets from the best producers in NY, u can also hear shows on mental health.
Our goal was to create different shows where u have something for everybody because you don’t find that any more on the radio these days.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?

artists, DJs, producers & creatives in New York.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Being from New York there are a lot of places to go to but I would say as a creative I would take them to the city like the village because that area has a lot of clubs from jazz, funk, blues.
Then in Brooklyn like Bed-stuy or Bushwick you have shows like Donut Lounge which is a huge beat community showcasing some of the best producers, rappers, creatives. Last but not least our QSTV events, you hear some of the best artists and you can connect with people from all over.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to shout out my Sister Vicky Casis who is an amazing Producer, DJ and artist in her own right & our cousin Koolie Koo Koo who is a songwriter, Drummer & Artist who is creating his own genre of music in his own lane. We all come from a musical background so this is something that’s always been with us from young.
Myself & Vicky recently just did the music score for a new documentary series called Black Pop that is executive produced by Stephen curry. The documentary is about black culture covering everything from music, sports, film & Television, The series is on demand now on E! so be sure to check that out.
Vicky has her debut album called “Casis World” out now on all streaming platforms & our cousin Koolie just dropped his latest single called Giver which is available now everywhere.
