We had the good fortune of connecting with Margie Joseph and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Margie, what role has risk played in your life or career?
The Truth is taking risks isn’t for the weak hearted, Soon as you have a dream that’s outside of what society deems normal, people tell you your taking a risk, you’re giving up security. Simply put, people think you lack common sense for doing anything outside of a 9-5. With risk taking comes fear and sometimes depending on how strong that fear is some of us cant even think past it. I think risk is a necessary factor when it comes to reaching our goals. Literally gives you the feeling that you are willing to do something bigger than what has been presented to you. Without risks, many of would not be here, that includes me. Stepping past fear and into risk taking has allowed me to progress in both my career and my new ventures with The Local Angle.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
The Local Angle was created for People to have a space where they could be in the now while traveling to a city. The point is to make everyone feel like a local. I have rarely wanted to be a tourist whenever I traveled to a City/country. I’ve always wanted to go where the locals go. Eat, party, events etc. This is the energy I hope to bring through The Local Angle. Also in development I hope to hold networking foodie events, and eventually provide services to those travelers who simply do not want the headache of planning their trips, we will gladly do the heavy lifting and promise to provide an exceptional experience for them. Like any start up, you read, you research and you find what works best for you and your vision. No, it hasnt been the easiest road but the positive feedback I have received so far has been a huge motivating factor for me. One major lesson I have learned is never let fear drive you, because once you’ve overcome fear the world opens up to you.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
