Meet Mariam Albornoz Biscardi

We had the good fortune of connecting with Mariam Albornoz Biscardi and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Mariam, why did you pursue a creative career?
I’ve known for as long as I can remember that this was the path I wanted to follow. I was deeply influenced by my mom, who is an architect. When I was little, I would spend hours next to her at her drafting table. She used to give me sheets of paper and some of her templates, and I’d spend the entire day drawing floor plans and building them out of Legos.
For me, creativity has always felt like a deep form of connection—when you’re completely immersed in a project, time disappears. You’re so absorbed in your ideas and visions that nothing else matters except bringing them to life. There’s something incredibly fulfilling about taking something that exists only in your mind and making it tangible. That process—of translating imagination into reality—is magical to me, and it’s what keeps me inspired every day.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
It definitely wasn’t easy—especially in the beginning, when you are trying to juggle launching a new business while also working a full-time job to pay the bills. Building something of your own while managing other responsibilities is incredibly demanding, but I’m always driven by the bigger vision.
This type of work is a challenge in itself. Every project involves countless moving parts, unexpected surprises during the development process, and a million small details that need to be caught and resolved as quickly as possible. But over time, I’ve learned to navigate it all more efficiently, and watching the business grow has been incredibly fulfilling.
One of the things I’m most proud of is how far we’ve come—from taking on smaller projects to now managing entire properties from start to finish, which was always the dream. I also love that we’ve been able to adapt to different clients and budgets. We’ve worked on luxury penthouses, but also helped elevate more modest spaces with just as much care and intention. Being able to create meaningful impact regardless of scale, and receiving such positive feedback from a range of clients, has been one of the most rewarding parts of this journey.
If there’s one thing I’d want people to know about my work, it’s that it’s driven by passion, adaptability, and the genuine desire to turn spaces into something that feels personal, functional, and inspiring.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I’m very outdoorsy so we’d definitely spend a lot of time at the beach—Haulover Beach, Key Biscayne, and of course South Pointe Park, especially for sunset.
One of my favorite ways to start the day is with sunrise beach yoga on 3rd Street, followed by a bite at Pura Vida, and then skating or biking up the trail that runs along the coast. It’s the perfect Miami morning.
Coconut Grove is another must—walking around and grabbing brunch in one of its cozy cafés is always a good plan.
For evenings, I’d go for drinks by the river—Casa Neos has an amazing vibe, and Joia Beach is perfect if you want a mix of nature and city with that skyline view over the water.
Miami is full of energy and contrasts, so for me the goal would be to show them the relaxing beauty of the outdoors, the incredible food scene, and the magic of a sunset behind the skyline.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Definitely my mom. She’s been by my side every step of the way—not only as the person who first introduced me to the world of architecture and interior design, but as the greatest role model I could’ve asked for. Her passion, work ethic, and high standards taught me early on to always aim for excellence and give my absolute best in every project. More than anything, I’m grateful for the way she’s always believed in me and pushed me to believe in myself—specially during the most difficult and challenging moments—constantly reminding me to keep going and never settle.
Also, my first boss, Arelis—a true hustler and someone I think about very often. She was another incredible role model for me, showing me that women can absolutely thrive in male-dominated industries. She taught me to stand up for the respect we deserve, to never settle, and to always keep striving for growth. A true inspiration, both personally and professionally
