We had the good fortune of connecting with Marianela Campos-Mora and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Marianela, have there been any changes in how you think about work-life balance?
When you work from home it becomes difficult to maintain the boundaries between your personal life and your professional life, now a days with the pandemic has been changed with ups and downs. Using technology It could also interfere with the daily life of my home by staying connected either as a work tool or when using social networks.
If the dedication of your time to work exceeded the limits of your personal life, you will have negative results such as emotional exhaustion, physical exhaustion, stress, and distancing from your loved ones.
Therefore, to establish some limits, some strategies can be used, such as:
• Make a daily schedule ( I have an handwriting agenda )
• To say no ( without feeling guilty, when your priority is accomplish your agenda)
• Disconnect from computers and phones and use them for a specific number of hours (it’s hard but yes you can)
• Play a sport outdoors ( I do Zumba 4 times a week)
• Start each day with the awareness of investing your time in meeting daily goals, it is a way to give value to our present, live with quality of life and enjoy the different roles we play daily. ( at AM time I pray and make some kind of meditation/ silent time ( 5 minutes))

more or less how do I do it:

 Managing the hours I work with the hours of my private life
 Respecting my agreements to achieve that balance of self-esteem and personal responsibilities
 Reducing or delegating activities that interrupt the execution of work to maintain priorities in your personal life
 if you work from home, like me, dress according to your work to carry out that activity in a space conditioned for it and then change your clothes making the transition to go to the supermarket or to go to the park to exercise ( make big difference, believe me)

Remember, Creating a balance in your life is very important to have control of your time, to better adapt to changes and to enjoy your interests in a healthy way and with well-being, with positive emotions and keep your dreams awake.

Nela.-

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am from Venezuela, and I have been living in Miami since 1997, it has been a long road learning with the studies and with the jobs that I have been developing over the years, discovering that while you achieve your dreams, enjoy what you have, what you live, because sooner or later with your actions you will come to see your dreams come true. Therefore now in 2022, I am living the reality of a set of ideas that have been maturing over time.
I continue to enjoy the path of the brand because Re-Do Bricks is still a baby, who will grow up and it will be wonderful, because I want to help and support many people with its purpose.
I can humbly say that I am proud to continue working on my dream, because I know that I am touching many people in a positive way.
Our main purpose with our accessories/ with our brand, is make awareness about Autism/ TEA.
There is not one way to be autistic; autism can present in many ways. Acceptance can lead to greater support, which is necessary for autistic people to reach their full potential. Raising awareness about autism is not enough to substantially improve their lives, but with love and teaching the community about empathy and make it happens will make a change, a positive impact into Autism community life, and that is one of our main goal.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If I have a friend who comes from my country to visit me, I would be very happy, just the fact that she can be here with me sharing where I live. Since I live in a tropical city, I would make a daily itinerary, I would take her to emblematic places for me, where I have had a great time. for example, we would go to the beach and have a picnic, something simple but special, unforgettable.
As I like theater and concerts, I would look for one on those days to go. I am a lover of international food, so I would look for cool places to eat and have a good time. I love Miami.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My entrepreneurship was born thanks to my ingenuity to give party favors on my son’s birthday, and later I gave the brand a purpose with my nephew’s autism diagnosis. Therefore I owe this initiative to them, also to my sisters and my friends for making me believe that if I could achieve what I had always wanted, to have my own store, my own brand. It has been a long and wonderful journey.
