We had the good fortune of connecting with Kassie Meiler and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kassie, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I noticed there was a gap in the marketing industry between marketing agencies and small businesses. Many business owners and executives are aware they need social media marketing, but many are not financially able to hire a full-service agency. GOAT Social Media is focused strictly on social media management, and we offer a la carte services meant to fit the needs and budget of any business. Instead of working for an agency myself, I find it extremely rewarding to work directly with business owners and other companies on my own time and in my own way. When you have your own business you have the flexibility of taking on more work and configuring your hours to best fit your schedule. Although, as many business owners know to be true, there are never enough hours in a day. That is what excites me. I can relate to my clients who are business owners, entrepreneurs, and go-gettters.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
GOAT Social Media is hyper-focused on social media management. From content creation, post scheduling, hashtag research, and paid advertising, we do it all across multiple platforms, including but not limited to, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, TikTok, and more.
I believe my background in theatre definitely sets me apart from the competition. Growing up in the performing arts world, I learned how to channel my creativity and love of dance into choreographing and directing. This creative field came naturally to me and I studied theatre in undergrad at Florida State University. While there, I minored in communications and education, and learned I had a passion for marketing. I realized my creativity could be utilized in the digital marketing field to increase companies’ profits. From creating strategies, solving problems, and designing content, I look at everything with an innovative eye. I went on to earn my Master of Art’s at the University of Florida in Mass Communications with a focus in social media. Through this program and my own business, GOAT Social Media, I learned how to channel my passion for creating and designing into success.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I absolutely love South Florida and there are so many to name. If a friend is visiting Fort Lauderdale, I love to do lunch at Boathouse, located at the Riverside Hotel. I also love Sparrow at the Dalmar Hotel for sunset drinks. It’s a trendy rooftop that makes you feel like you’re in a Tropical destination. At night, Bodega is definitely a scene. It’s a speakeasy vibe with a Mexican flare! If we are talking Miami, I recommend Astra for dinner in Wynwood. The views of the Miami skyline are stunning and the vibe feels like Tulum. I also recommend the Faena Hotel for amazing food and incredible Instagram pics! Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout? First, I would love to shoutout my mother, Debbie. She is the epitome of a #GIRLBOSS and currently manages two hotels in Doral. She always inspired me to think big in my career. Secondly, I would like to shoutout Lisa Buyer at the The Buyer Group. She saw the potential in me while at the University of Florida and continues to be an amazing mentor for me in the digital marketing world.
