We had the good fortune of connecting with Mariel Rosefield and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Mariel, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
When the thought process came to mind for Groundedco I wanted to create a brand that was more than just an apparel brand. I wanted to create a lifestyle movement that started with women. A lifestyle brand that represented peace, love, and good vibes and one that would create community.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
The ability to be creative is such a gift. A gift that I truly believe that we all have in different ways. Honestly, speaking I never was apart of the fashion design world nor did I ever think that I would be apart of a journey like this. I always worked in the real estate field. I loved creating in my younger years and simply a world of color and good energy. Some of the things that I carried over from my years in real estate were consistency, determination and simply hard work. There most definitely has been challenges on the rise with my new venture. There has been a lot of things that I did not know and have had to learn along the way. Collaborations and new relationships that have been made. I could have either seen them as an obstacle and quit or gotten creative as I did and pushed forward. Not to mention that Groundedco was also launched in the mist of the COVID pandemic, where there were a lot of limitations and uncertainty. I knew deep down inside that I had to keep pushing, it was all that I would think about and that meant something, I still do.
Where there is no risk there is no magic. the magic always lies on the other side of that wall where it seems intimidating and where we are afraid to walk. That is ok.
Groundedco was created to inspire, to give love and light and bring good vibes and build community.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I am a Miami, FL girl at heart, However, I have now had the privilege to explore the northern part of Florida and it is a completely different vibe. I would recommend the Palm Beach area which consist of Boca Raton, Delray Beach, and or the Jupiter area if my best friend was coming into town.
There is such wide variety of restaurants, arts & culture, community events and so many outdoor activities to do. It truly offers so much to so many.
Some of my very favorite places to dine which is really hard to narrow down is Rose’s Daughter for some homemade from scratch Italian food, Amar for your fresh Mediterranean food, and Hawkers for that delicious Asian Street Food and Cocktails.
The beaches here are so beautiful all year round and really you cannot miss.
If we headed into the Jupiter area I’d take my best friend to Guanabanas which offers such a relaxing vibe. Fresh food and cocktails. You can access this place thru boat or land. Jupiter also offers the lighthouse to check out and the blowing rocks beach park.
Boca Raton also offers so many different restaurants, and museums to check out that are truly for everyone.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
WOW! This is a big one, as there are so many people whom have been so supportive, and have believed in me through out this journey. (you know whom you are) 🙂
If I had to pick one person and give a shoutout it would be to my spouse, Jonah Rosefield. For believing in me when this was just an idea, and carrying out late night conversations, and traveling to different countries to learn about fabrics. Overall, he has always been my backbone and has pushed me outside of my comfort zones which has allowed me to grow and grow my business.
