Meet Mariia Grachova

We had the good fortune of connecting with Mariia Grachova and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Mariia, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I came to America 1.5 years ago from Ukraine, and many of my friends told me it would be logical for me to start working at Starbucks or DoorDash. But I knew I couldn’t work that long because my ambition is to change the world.
My thought behind starting Loona, my full-cycle marketing agency for home improvement companies, was driven by two things: market opportunity and personal passion.
I saw a gap in the marketing strategies available for this industry—many home improvement companies were struggling to reach and engage with their target audience effectively.
These companies often had excellent services but lacked the digital marketing expertise to grow and stand out in a competitive market. So, they serve a small local area without any opportunity to scale for decades, and it was so sad for me to see.
Before that, I worked a lot with startups and knew a lot of extraordinary, cheap methods for attracting and nurturing leads that many companies in the home improvement niche had never used.
I’ve always been passionate about marketing in not-so-fancy niches 😅 By focusing on home improvement businesses, I believed there was an opportunity to make a real impact, providing comprehensive marketing strategies to help these companies grow from scratch up to 10M.
I also wanted to build something of my own, where I could create a positive company culture and grow junior marketers on a data-driven basis that I cultivate. So, combining my love for marketing with my passion for people was a key driver for me.
Ultimately, the decision came down to recognizing that I could offer unique value to an underserved market and that starting my own business would allow me to pursue my vision on my own terms.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Question: Please tell us more about your business.
Answer: Loona is a full-cycle marketing agency helping home improvement companies grow through customized, data-driven strategies. From SEO and content marketing to social media, paid advertising, and web development, we provide end-to-end marketing solutions tailored to the unique needs of this industry.
Our goal is to help home improvement companies not only attract leads but also convert them into long-term clients, driving sustainable growth and visibility in a competitive market.
Question: We’d love to hear what sets you apart from others.
Answer: What sets Loona apart is our highly skilled team. We are not about Meta Ads from overseas junior media buyers. We offer tailored strategies adapted to local companies’ specific needs and challenges.
Our team combines industry-specific expertise with the newest digital marketing practices, creating a custom approach that delivers results. We’re also committed to full transparency and communication, ensuring our clients are always in the loop about their marketing efforts and progress.
Question: What are you most proud of or excited about?
Answer: I’m most proud of the tangible results we’ve been able to deliver. Whether it’s increasing their website traffic, improving lead conversion rates, or helping build a recognizable brand – seeing the direct impact of our work is incredibly rewarding.
I’m also excited about how Loona is growing, not just as a business but as a team of passionate professionals who care about each client’s resources and results.
Yes, we are one of the teams that can manage 30-TikToks shooting in 1 night if needed.
Question: How did you get to where you are today business-wise? Was it easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenges?
Answer: Getting to where I am today wasn’t easy. The early days of Loona involved a lot of trial and error, figuring out what works and what doesn’t. We faced challenges with building a client base, establishing trust in a new competitive market, and balancing multiple clients’ needs while managing a business’s growing demands.
How did I overcome it? I learned quickly that consistency, building strong relationships, and continuously improving and automating our processes were key to growing our reputation and client base.
Question: What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way?
Answer: One of the most important lessons I’ve learned is the value of adaptability. The marketing landscape constantly changes, so being flexible and staying up-to-date with the latest trends is crucial.
Another key lesson is the importance of communication. Clear, honest communication with clients and within our team helps ensure everyone is aligned and moving toward the same goals. Clear communication about fuck-ups also so important thing, but I’m still figuring out how to do it properly.
Lastly, I’ve learned that success doesn’t happen overnight—it’s a long-term commitment to providing exceptional value and building trust. I’m running a marathon, not a sprint. Sometimes I win, sometimes I lose, and at the end, it is just a big adventure I’m happy to participate in.
Question: What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story?
Answer: I want the world to know that Loona is more than just a usual marketing agency — we’re a dedicated marketing partner in our clients’ success. Our story is built on a passion for helping others grow and thrive. We’re committed to putting our clients first, delivering real results, and continuously striving to improve our approach. Our work is always about numbers, comfort, and cost-effective solutions,

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
My top to-dos in Miami:
1. Wake surfing in Brickell
2. Look at graffiti in Wynwood, then eat the most delicious cheesecake at Farmer’s Milk Wynwood
3. I love breakfast and borscht at “All You Need” in Sunny Isles, so I would definitely go there
4. I want to go to the Founder’s Run in Brickell (every Saturday), but I’m scared to go alone. So I would take a friend with me and definitely go meet them
5.Shopping at Aventura Mall
6. Play padel near SoleMia + then have a delicious tuna bowl at Pura Vida

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Sure. The person who:
– completely changed me and my perception of this world
– was with me when the war started in our home country, and then went through immigration with me
– supported me after 500+ unsuccessful sales calls
– was a reserve fund and a huge support for me and the agency, always when things didn’t go according to plan
– build perfect operations, finance and administrative departments from scratch
– know all about taxes and business metrics
This is my partner in life and business, COO Loona, Vlad. Building a family together is hard. Building a family and a company simultaneously – unrealistically hard, but we are doing very well.
