We had the good fortune of connecting with Marijana Camovic – Schwarte and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Marijana, how has your work-life balance changed over time?

My life changed in every possible way two years ago, when I had my son, Theodore. All my free time became our time, and I learned how to balance it better and use it more productively. My focus is more substantial, and I choose my priorities wisely.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?

I have decided to leave my home country 15 years ago to experience working in a large-scale business environment; I also became a resident of four different countries during my tenure. I lived in Serbia, Russia, The Bahamas, and finally, the USA. While I was based in these countries and working for the consulting firm, I traveled to many other places like Mongolia, Europe, the Caribbean islands, Asia, etc. In total, I have been fortunate enough to travel to 68 different countries. I admired the different cultures, flavors, scents, and traditions from each country I stepped foot in during my extensive journey. But it was fashion that became my infatuation. I learned that people use clothing to express themselves through designs, colors, and fabrics. Not only do the garments differ according to the place, but the attitude with which people carry them –people wear History on their shoulders. I realized why prominent fashion designers get inspired by traditional outfits. I saw reverence and honor in Japan’s silk and satin; I discovered joy and warmth in the wool from Peru. I felt the magic and spirituality in the embroidery from India. During my odyssey, I also found love in the most wonderful and supportive man.

After so many years in the corporate world, I realized that now I have the opportunity in my life to make some real changes. I had a child that inspired me to follow my excitement. I decided to give all I have.  My work ethic, experience, passion for fashion mixed with my travels around the world, connections that I made through the years, and combined that into a new endeavor that we decided to call Hera Hermes | Kids Fashion Store.  Or how we internally call it “Your Magic Sailing Wardrobe.” Inspired by Greek Mythology, Hera was the Goddess of Marriage and Childbirth, and Hermes, the Gods’ messenger with the wings attached to his hat and sandals.

Today, Hera + Hermes is an online boutique specializing in fashionable, high-end attires, various accessories, early learning materials for babies and young children aged 0-5. We see our children as our clients and pay special attention to their needs, but primarily to their dreams. Just like our children, our clothing is lively and bold, colorful, and fun every day. Our exclusive selection of more than 50 finest brands is what sets us apart from all the others in this market. Children grow up so fast, so we want to be a part of their confidence, attitude, and creativity.

As parents, Kevin and I understand the absolute need to trust the products we use when caring for our children. When we decided to start Hera + Hermes, we knew that the items we sell would have to be authentic and of the best quality available. We decided to make our way across seven seas to find the best and the brightest fashion for you. We are prepared to deliver this fabulous fashion to every child and parent who wants to experience it. We have free shipping across the USA and same-day delivery for our Miami community. We are happy to be here. Please visit our website and Instagram/Facebook page, and let’s connect

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.

Here is our little tour:

First, we would go to Islamorada and take a boat out, feed the tarpon and get a fish sandwich. Drive across Tamiami Trail to Everglades City. Stop at Clyde Butchers studio, go to City Seafood in Everglades City to get some Stone Crabs, and watch the sunset from Smallwood’s Store. Take a private airboat tour in the Everglades. Take a swim in the pool at the Biltmore Hotel in Coral Gables. Take a drive along the coast from Manalapan to West Palm Beach, have lunch at the Breakers Hotel, stop at Devonshire Antiques. Go to the beach at Crandon Park or Bill Baggs Start Park. Rent a Paddle Board at Matheson Hammock Park. Go to Vizcaya Museum in the cool morning sun. Eat dinner outside at a cafe in Coconut Grove. Feed the peacocks at the Crandon Park Peacock Shelter. Play with an alligator at the Everglades Alligator Farm and get a key lime milkshake from Robert is Here. Take a walk on Broadwalk at Hollywood Beach.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?

My husband, Kevin. Without his endless support, patience, and love, this dream project wouldn’t be possible.
