Meet Marine Azria | Owner of The Piece Collective | Podcast Host | Interior Designer
We had the good fortune of connecting with Marine Azria and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Marine, how do you think about risk?
I believe risks create bigger rewards! Obviously identifying the costs of those risks is very important in decision making. There is a French saying, “ qui risque rien n’a rien”. It means one that risks nothing has nothing. This was told to me before making some very big decisions. And I always compare the gain vs. the lose.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
How much time do you have? Haha! I originally opened two beautiful retail stores in LA and I was in business for 8 years! Throughout that time I received requests from customers to design their homes! Even though I had no professional training they insisted, and that began the journey of creating meaningful spaces and homes through interior design. After some time and many changes in my life I picked up and moved to Miami! My previous business was closed and I opened a new online store with the same name, The Piece Collective. Aligned with this new business venture I started a podcast @marineazriapodcast that I am very passionate about! I’ve always felt so much purpose around helping people. I have had many life experiences and acquired many tools and perspectives to navigate life. I believe sharing that with others has become a very important part of my journey and is aligned with all that I do!
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If I had a friend visiting me from out of town, the first thing I would probably want to show them is the beach. The beaches in Miami are so special. If they want get a workout in, I would take them to Mimi Yoga! This studio is amazing and filled with great energy and amazing teachers! Drinks at Soho Beach House and dinner at Mignonette, Uchi, and definitely Mandolin!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
The support of my family is my number 1! Without them, I don’t believe I would have the support that I need to do things that I do! Also, the healing and journey I’ve been on. Without these practices, guidance and tools I feel I would be a very different person! In Miami specifically, I want to Shout out Mimi, from Mimi Yoga. She and her classes have made my transition to Miami seamless and have supported me so much!
