We had the good fortune of connecting with Marislay Mota and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Marislay, how does your business help the community?
At Elegance By Marislay, our mission goes far beyond selling clothes — we’re here to help women reclaim their confidence, rediscover their beauty, and reconnect with the woman they truly are.

I created this brand because I experienced firsthand how the way we dress can transform not only how others see us, but how we see ourselves. When a woman dresses with intention, something shifts. She walks differently, speaks with more certainty, and believes more deeply in what she can accomplish.

Through carefully curated collections, personalized style guidance, and inspirational content, I help women feel seen, elegant, and ready to show up for themselves in every area of life.

The impact is emotional, personal, and powerful — and it creates a ripple effect. When a woman feels her best, she brings out the best in those around her: at home, at work, and in her community. That’s what Elegance By Marislay stands for — not just fashion, but transformation from the inside out.

What should our readers know about your business?
Elegance By Marislay was born from my personal journey — not just with fashion, but with self-worth. I used to think dressing well was about vanity, until I experienced firsthand how powerful it can be. When I started dressing with intention, everything changed: people treated me differently, I felt stronger, and I started to believe in myself more. That transformation inspired me to help other women do the same.

The path hasn’t always been easy. Building a brand from scratch comes with many emotional and mental challenges — moments of uncertainty, fear, and growth. But I’ve learned that success isn’t just about talent or strategy; it’s about consistency, resilience, and staying rooted in your purpose.

What sets Elegance By Marislay apart is that we don’t just sell clothes — we teach women how to use style strategically to elevate how they feel and how they’re perceived. Every piece is curated with purpose and intention. Our mission is to help women reconnect with their elegance, confidence, and essence.

What I want the world to know is that this is not just fashion — this is transformation through style, and it’s deeply personal.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
One of my favorite spots right now is a restaurant I recently discovered in Miami called Carnicero Group. It’s owned by a group of young Cuban entrepreneurs who have created something truly special.

The quality is outstanding — from the food to the ambiance to the customer service, everything feels thoughtful and top-notch. What I love the most is that it reminds me of Spain. The flavors and the experience are so authentic, it truly feels like a little piece of the east of Spain, right here in Miami.

This place has quickly become my go-to spot to spend time with family and friends, enjoy amazing food, and just have a beautiful experience in a warm, elegant setting.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
First and foremost, I want to thank God — everything I have, everything I am, and every door that has opened in my life is because of His grace.

I also want to thank my family, especially my husband, Andy Mota. He is my rock, my best friend, my biggest supporter, and the person who gives me strength when I feel like giving up. He pushes me to be better, celebrates my wins, and lovingly challenges me when I need it most. He’s been by my side in every step of this journey, helping me shine even in the hardest moments. I trust him deeply, and I value his advice — especially in business — because he’s incredibly smart, grounded, and always has my best interest at heart. Without God and without him, I truly wouldn’t be where I am today.

I also want to dedicate a very special thank you to Luz María Doria, the author who completely changed my life. Her book La Mujer de Mis Sueños was the first book I ever truly connected with. That book led me to her others, and eventually to authors she recommended. From there, I became addicted to reading — and reading transformed me. It matured me, helped me find my purpose, and changed the way I see life. I often say there’s a “before and after” in my story, and it started with that first book. I’m forever grateful to her for awakening something in me that I didn’t even know was missing.
