Meet Maritza De Quesada | Artist & Filmmaker

We had the good fortune of connecting with Maritza De Quesada and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Maritza, we’d love to start by asking you about lessons learned. Is there a lesson you can share with us?
The most important lesson my career has taught me is that success is all about mindset and taking action. You have to change your attitude from “I’m not ready,” or “I need to be more prepared” to simply going for it. There were so many times I stopped myself from doing the things that I wanted to do for that reason to then realized that the obstacles I feared were never as difficult as I made them out to be. Growth happens when you step forward, even when you don’t feel ready. Every mistake and misstep is an opportunity to learn, and with each challenge, confidence builds. The key is to take that first step—and once you do, keep going. Consistency is everything because it’s what builds experience, strengthens confidence, and ultimately turns dreams into reality.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My journey as an artist has been one of exploration, resilience, and transformation. It hasn’t been easy, but every challenge became a stepping stone to grow. I’ve always been driven by a need to create and a curiosity for the metaphysical, and that passion has guided me through every phase of my career.
Like many artists, I faced moments of doubt—wondering if my work is good enough, if I was “ready,” or if I had the knowledge and skills to bring my visions to life. But I learned that waiting for the perfect moment only holds you back. The real key is to take action, trust the process, and embrace every experience—successes and failures alike—as part of the unfolding journey.
One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that consistency and courage are everything. Art, much like life, is an ever-evolving practice. Every piece I create is a meditation, a reflection of my inner world, and an offering to those seeking connection and transformation. Through my work, I strive to elevate the vibrational frequency of love, guiding others toward self-discovery and a deeper understanding of the universal energies that bind us all.
What I want the world to know about me and my work is that it’s not just about aesthetics—it’s about creating experiences that transcend the physical and touch the soul. My art is an invitation: to pause, to reflect, to connect with something greater than ourselves. I believe that art has the power to heal, to inspire, and to illuminate the profound mysteries of existence. That is my mission, and that is what continues to fuel my creative path.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’d like to give a shoutout to Frances Sinkowitsch—Founder of Mitte Projects and my dear friend of nearly 30 years. Her incredible depth of knowledge and passion for the art world, cultivated over three decades, has been truly inspiring. She has taught me so much, always encouraging me to step outside my comfort zone and explore new possibilities. Her expertise, dedication, and support are something I deeply admire and trust. Grateful to have her as both a mentor and a friend!
