We had the good fortune of connecting with Martina Estrada-Rojas and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Martina, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?

Even though I have been working in a corporate environment for the past twenty-five years. I always had a creative mind and the desire to become an entrepreneur. I often wondered if only I can find the right balance to do both successfully.

My thought process behind starting Head2ToeEssentials was to provide a product that could compete with the Bath & Body products currently on the market. I wanted a product that was free of chemicals and unnatural additives. I also, wanted women to know the importance of self-care and self-love.
I was inspired by my daughter who started a summer job at Wholefoods and began making her own hair conditioners. She changed her lifestyle, became vegetarian, and influenced me to do the same. Her customers started asking her what products she was using in her hair, and from that, the idea of creating a natural bath and body products line was born.

I saw this as a good opportunity to start a family business. I wanted my girls to know that they could become entrepreneurs and that success comes in many different ways. I knew that owning your own business teaches you many life lessons, such as trusting in yourself, taking risks, pushing through even when things look bleak, staying focused while creating, and being passionate about what you do.

My long-term goal is to retire from my corporate job and manage Head2ToeEssentials exclusively. My daughters are both still involved in the business and help with social media marketing, advertising, packaging, and shipping.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.

I started my professional career in 1995 working at Blue Cross & Blue Shield of NJ. After fifteen years of working there. I was laid off. I decided that I needed a better work-life balance so I taught myself the IT side of the business. Working in IT allowed me to bid on contract work and work from the comfort of my home. My first remote job was for six months. Working remotely allowed me the opportunity to spend more time with my daughters and manage all the activities they were involved in.

What sets me apart from others is that I bring a human element to everything that I do. I go above and beyond to make my customers happy and they are more than just customers to me. I am passionate about everything that I do and I believe that hard work and dedication pays off. The lesson that I have learned along the way is that everyone is not going to like you but you don’t take it personally because it has nothing to do with you.

I want the world to know that when I create these products I am totally focused on the outcome. It has to be perfect. The smell, the feel on my skin has to be just right. I am creating these products with me in mind and I only want the best for myself. I want my customers to feel pampered and special every time they use my products. My products should speak for itself. My brand is only the best natural product. My tag is “Everyday is a Spa Day’

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?

The beach is my favorite place to be so we will definitely start off by spending a day on the beach. Either Hollywood Beach  or West Palm. Eden Rock is one of my favorite hotel as the atmosphere is always festive and the food is amazing. I love the brunch at the Marriott on Hollywood Beach. City Center in West Palm beach is a must to visit . Filled with shopping and good restaurants like City Cellar wine and bar grill and  IL Bellagio .

Wynwood would be nice also a great spot for viewing art and  other creative things.
